In the past few days, guides and travelers from around the world have been fortunate to witness our magnificent jaguar 🐆—the third-largest cat in the world and the one with the strongest bite force of all! 🦷 We’re eager to improve our observation skills and contribute to the valuable scientific work done by rangers at the park. Here’s how you can help:
1. Stay Quiet 🤫: Maintain complete silence to avoid disturbing the jaguar.
2. Identify the S*x 🔍: Determine the s*x of the jaguar if possible.
3. Take a Photo 📸: Capture a clear image, noting any distinctive features like a cut ear or other unique markings.
4. Record the Location 📍: Mark the exact location where you spotted the jaguar. Even though they have vast home ranges, this information helps in setting up trail cameras for scientific research.

Sabemos que sin una municipalidad establecida, la gestión de la basura y los residuos sólidos puede parecer un desafío, pero juntos podemos implementar soluciones efectivas y sostenibles. Aquí les presentamos tres estrategias que, con su colaboración, nos ayudarán a mantener nuestro entorno limpio y próspero:
Compostaje comunitario:
Convertir los residuos orgánicos en compost no solo reduce la cantidad de basura, sino que también enriquece nuestros suelos agrícolas. Podemos crear estaciones de compostaje en puntos estratégicos del área, donde todos podamos depositar restos de comida, hojas y otros residuos orgánicos. El compost resultante podrá ser utilizado para fertilizar nuestros campos y jardines, cerrando el ciclo de nutrientes de manera natural.
Reciclaje y reutilización:
Separar los residuos reciclables y reutilizables es una práctica esencial. Podríamos organizar puntos de recolección para materiales como plástico, vidrio, papel y metal. Estos materiales pueden ser llevados organizadamente a centros de reciclaje en áreas cercanas o reutilizados en proyectos comunitarios. Además, fomentar la creatividad en la reutilización de objetos nos permitirá reducir la cantidad de basura y dar una segunda vida a muchos productos.
Educación y concienciación:
La educación es la base del cambio sostenible. Organizamos talleres y charlas para aprender más sobre la gestión de residuos, el impacto ambiental de la basura y cómo cada uno de nosotros puede contribuir. Concienciar a nuestros niños y jóvenes es clave para asegurar un futuro más limpio. Unirnos en campañas de limpieza y actividades comunitarias fortalecerá nuestros lazos y nos permitirá ver el impacto positivo de nuestros esfuerzos conjuntos.

Conservation Alert 😳 After the sudden doubling of spaces by ACOSA, we have a peak moment during lunch at Sirena. Here there are 240 people from the day tour and another 100 from the overnight tour, I clarify that this doesn´t happen every day, and new efforts are visible. We are sure that all this can be improved if we do it the right way. 1. We planned and consulted before such a drastic decision. 2. We take into account scientific and university criteria. 3. Our local guide Jhon Jairo spotted the Ornate Hawk Eagle (Spizaetus Ornatus) and we were delighted to spend a while with this incredible creature.
