Tucked deep into the rainforests of the South Pacific coast, you will find one of the most spectacular waterfalls in all of Costa Rica. After being driven by tractor up and down steep and rugged inclines of the mountainous terrain, you have to hike the remaining distance to reach the climatic highlights of the powerful falls. After 2.5 miles of steady climbing, fatigue sets in as you can feel the tightening of your calves and the sweat rolling from your brow is your only relief…that is until you reach the falls. The pounding of the water hitting the rocky cliffs soon surrounds you in mist and the blue pools of water below begin calling you to strip down to take a plunge into its clear tranquility and the mist showers you with peace of mind. Nature provides the best kind of therapy as the locals demonstrate the absolute ecstasy that can only be found in embracing the moment. The Nauyaca Waterfalls adventure guided by the team was one of the many highlights of our Costa Rican adventure.
