Nina Neidhart, one of our travel experts, sharing her excitement and some photos by Puerto Puerto Viejo Through My Eyes, of the first of three new two-lane bridges being done.

"After 16 years of living with a provisional "Puente Bailey", we have our first two-lane bridge 🎉🎉🎉

I remember well, when in 2008 the old bridge got washed away by the stormy sea 🌬 and a Bailey Bridge was installed - a provisional they said 🙃

Year after year passed and "el Puente Bailey" stayed. After 2020 the traffic increased drastically and I don't know how many hours I spent sitting in my car waiting for it to be my turn. 😤

So having a two-lane bridge is actually a big thing for me and the rest of us living here. ☺️ Can't wait for the other two bridges to be finished as well and say goodbye to the endless queuing" 😝
