"After 16 years of living with a provisional "Puente Bailey", we have our first two-lane bridge 🎉🎉🎉

I remember well, when in 2008 the old bridge got washed away by the stormy sea 🌬 and a Bailey Bridge was installed - a provisional they said 🙃

Year after year passed and "el Puente Bailey" stayed. After 2020 the traffic increased drastically and I don't know how many hours I spent sitting in my car waiting for it to be my turn. 😤

So having a two-lane bridge is actually a big thing for me and the rest of us living here. ☺️ Can't wait for the other two bridges to be finished as well and say goodbye to the endless queuing" 😝

Now we have our new dates for our castration/vaccination clinic in Tortuguero, we are getting everything ready to go in a few weeks! ❤️

One thing we love about this project is it helps everyone. It helps the locals in the area who are unable to castrate or vaccinate their animals, it helps their pets AND it helps wildlife like the beautiful jaguars. It ticks every box! Howler monkeys can be seen all over Costa Rica. They travel in groups and stick to the trees. Their voices are harsh and extremely loud. If you hear them look up and you'll see them moving along in the tree tops! We saw this guy in Cahuita Nation Park on the Caribbean Coast❤

This news are too good not to be shared. A big thank you to the team at the Jaguar Rescue Center for their endless efforts!

Lately we’ve been having a lot of electrocution cases, this mother and her baby were caught on the powerlines last month. In many cases the mother dies and the baby survives, that’s how we end up raising so many babies 🦥

Luckily, it wasn’t a severe case of electrocution and the mother is still around for her baby! These two were released last week and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see an electrocution case with a happy ending 🙌💚
