Very recently, there's been a significant taxonomic update in the world's Clements/eBird lists; here's a summary of those changes that affect Costa Rica.

(You don't really need to do much to your own lists as they will automatically be updated, the main purpose of these compilations is to give a reference to what's changed then we can submit eBird lists more accurately!)

Happy birding everyone! 🦜🐦‍⬛🦩🦉🦆✌🏻

It is with great joy that we announce the completion with great success of the two Birding South Costa Rica tours the we had the honor to host for our friends from Maryland Ornithological Society.

Our guide extraordinaire Anthony Arce Guido led both trips and they managed to see an incredible amount of bird species and other wildlife, the groups were presented with historic and cultural facts of the country as well as enjoyed the landscape and local food!

Portions of the funds were dedicated to support MOS programs and also two Costa Rican conservation groups Proyecto Cabanisi - Cabanisi Project and La Cotinga.

Thanks folks for a good time and we sure hope to continue exploring the natural world together!

The Great Green Macaw is one of the largest macaws in the world, yet due to dramatic population declines, it is an endangered bird. Mario Cordoba, founder of Crescentia Expeditions Costa Rica will present Tuesday's talk live from Costa Rica! He and Tony (our guide) will tell us all about this bird and many other birds we will see next March on our tour of the northern part of the country, exploring areas from the Pacific to Caribbean coasts! This talk is hybrid - meet in person at Moana Nursery or watch from home on zoom. What better way to see some of Costa Rica's endangered birds than with friends while also supporting local tropical conservation groups and Lahontan Audubon Society?
