A visit to Casa Macaw would not be complete without a visit to the Wild Macaw Reserve at Punta Islita. The Macaw pair nesting by our pool was released by the Reserve a few years ago and a photo of the nest is featured in the slideshow that you will see at the Reserve ❤️💙💛

It’s not uncommon to see vultures scavenging near Playa Sámara. However, on a quiet day in the neighbourhood, we found this guy enjoying a drink of water from one of the house pools. We enjoyed his presence and hoped that he found something tasty to snack on later in the day. ❤️

George, the iguana, is kind of friendly unless he has climbed a tree. He feels vulnerable there and will scamper the instant he detects your presence. 🤎

So, I was delighted to get to know these little blue birds. Two of them perched on the chairs for at least 30 minutes and I wondered why the heck are they so friendly. So I had made myself an egg salad sandwich, and literally, I walked away for 30 seconds to look at the Scarlet Macaws and when I returned, I saw this little blue bird and his friend flying away with the top half of my sandwich.
