Here is a nice comment from a happy customer... worth reading!
"Hi Marco, Thank you for your holiday greetings. We had a fabulous time in Costa Rica, despite the rain which prevented at least one of our planned outings. It was something beyond any of our control and we mostly just prayed for so many people whose homes were submerged.
The BEST tour was the Guanacaste Best Coffee Tour and Cooking Class (Tamarindo Dreamers Adventure) on November 4th. Marc and I were the only participants from our group and so we had our own driver. Ivan was an amazing driver as well as tour guide and conversationalist. He maneuvered through the horrendous downpour on our way home with calm and care. Plus, he was just a friendly, nice guy. You should ask for his services every time!
The coffee tour and cooking class was entertaining, very informative, well paced and great fun. We not only learned about the history of coffee and where the plants originated but also a bit of the long process to provide our morning cup of coffee! Tea Leo, the owner and presenter, kept the presentation funny, informative and included all 18 participants in helping in one way or the other. Making the empanadas was simple (since they had done all the work!) and fun. We also got to grind cocoa beans into chocolate sauce, taste coffee, used the coffee grounds to make an exfoliant, helped squeeze sugar cane and enjoyed lemonade with the cane water!
Please let future tourists know that the walking part of this outing was very minimal. Several folks in our group had thought about going but had mobility issues and were concerned about walking through fields. The tour is simply in their yard which is not difficult to navigate. Once again, Teo Leo and his lovely wife were very knowledgeable and pointed out cocoa beans, coffee beans, star fruit (we got to taste), iguanas lounging in the trees and other interesting plants. My enthusiasm back at the resort made many others sorry they hadn't chosen that trip. (We also learned to buy his whole bean coffee which was OK to take on the airplane in our hand luggage while the ground coffee would have had to be in the checked baggage. )
Again, thank you for your hard work in making our reunion a grand success. We've heard the horrible news about the airport in Liberia being closed indefinitely and trust this is a short-lived reconstruction project. You need more folks to enjoy northern Costa Rica!
May you have a peace filled Christmas season and a prosperous, joy-filled New Year!"
