Tony has over 40 years of photographic and film/video experience, win
ning awards in both fields. He is bilingual in English and Spanish making it extremely advantageous in communicating with the Costa Ricans. His expertise in photography is in a variety areas; lighting, landscapes, wildlife, portraits, macro and Photoshop to name a few. When judging, he points out what was done well and where they can improve. But most importantly how to accomplish it. The passion he has for photography in capturing great images inspires him to get up before dawn for those early morning light shots. This is often the best light of the day as well as at sundown. Tony helps those on our tours who are struggling with what to do in certain situations. We want everyone to come back from Costa Rica as a better photographer with some award-winning photos! Celeste
Celeste is Tony’s wife, and his "right-hand." She researches, designs, and secures the services for our tours, assuring all goes as planned. Although she doesn’t use a still camera, she is awesome at spotting great photo opportunities. Some of Tony’s award-winning photographs have been shots pointed out by Celeste! She is well-versed at recognizing what is right & wrong with an image. After so many years of observing Tony’s competition judging, her abilities in that area make up for her lack of camera skills. Our tours are smaller and more intimate than any we know about. Four to six participants is the amount we’ve chosen because we know, as a serious photographer, that with a large group, it is much more difficult and more frustrating for photographers to position themselves to photograph, for example, a small, moving animal. We believe that our smaller tours provide a better chance at obtaining great photos, personal service, and photo advice, if desired. Come along with us and experience this lush, beautiful country!
