So this happened today. Guest: “Hey, how’s it going?” Me: “super well, happy to hear from you, how was your sailing trip?” Guest: Me: “That’s great! Anything else I can help you with?” Guest: “um, well, we have a visitor….” Me: “OK, do you know what it is?” Guest: “Yes, it’s a snake.” Me: “do you know where it is currently?” Guest: “Yes, its here in the kitchen, up on the window sill. Just chilling.” Me: “OK, can you describe it to me? Take a photo of it with your phone?” Guest: “I am kind of short, I don’t think I can get it.” Me: “OK, I am on my way over right now. I am laughing out loud because this would have been the FIRST THING most guests would have said when they called!!” Guest: “yeah, he is chilling so we are chilling. It’s all good. See you shortly.” Thank God for AirBnB.

Guests can always expect the unexpected here. Nature is attracted to the safety and security of our property as all around us is primitive jungle. Animals have learned that they can see what is on the ground here, reducing their fear of predators as we provide them with hunting grounds. This juvenile hawk was aiming for a mid-sized iguana, but he escaped.
