Got to spend time in Tamarindo in August. Really cool time of year to be there. Tourism is around 30% but still lots of energy and a great vibe. Weather was hot but overcast so for an Irish person like me, it was perfect. It rained on average around 1 hour per day which was very cool to see. This was my second time going this year outside of the peak season (November to May) and honestly probably enjoyed it more. Less busy.

Meet Riley, she is 7 months old, adorable and available for adoption from . She is staying with us in an effort to get her adopted this month. She is so well trained, is comfortable as an outdoor dog, walks well, is gentle, and great with people and with other dogs, she a little afraid of crowds, loud noises, trucks, but she is slowly getting used it during our walks. She loves the beach, I can see her relax right away once her paws get on the sand. If anyone is considering another dog, this beautiful fawn like dog is so graceful and loving and may be the one for you. ❤️🙏🥰🐶💕

Dog lovers, When visiting Guanacaste consider visiting the Dog Hotel just outside of Tamarindo to visit the puppies and help walk the dogs if you are there for a few weeks, or help by donating to help care for these stray dogs taken in .vet who run the shelter and love and care for these wonderful pups with the amazing volunteers everyday. Puppies, mature beautiful dogs looking for their forever home. They help coordinate flights to US and CAN if you are looking to adopt! ❤️🐶🐾

Loved volunteering at the Saturday today at the animal adoption table with the fabulous volunteers from the animal shelter . Representing the rest of the gang at the shelter we had elegant Nessa, cool Jax, wee Brandon and adorably chill grey kitten who got adopted by a local business owner ! So exciting, definitely going to visit! Please follow halfway home Tamarindo to learn about how easy and affordable it is to adopt and have a dog or cat shipped to you!

Well we rented out Casa Clancy for 9 days while we are here for the winter so we decided to go on a road trip! It has been an adventure! Our route so far has taken us from our home in Tamarindo, to Playa Negra, Playa Nosara and then on to a stay for 2 nights in Playa Samara. We just got to Playa Santa Teresa, all taking the coastal, back country roads. The scenery has been beautiful, not as much beach view as we expected but also more gorgeous countryside than expected. We made it in an SUV but would definitely ask for a sturdy 4x4 rental next time, just to be alittle more reassured we won’t get stuck in the water. There are a few rivers you cross even in dry season, (wouldn’t try the back roads in rainy season). Met a guy that was stuck in a river bed with his car for 4 hours waiting for a local farmer with a tractor to help tow him out. Costa Ricans are beautiful people, we are grateful to be here in their devine country 🙏. Playa Negra was so nice and quiet, really cute chill beach town, that loves that all the noise stays in Tamarindo, without being too far. Definitely a place to consider if you want a quieter advance surfer town. I must say I was shocked at how green and lush it got as soon as you got to Nosara! Wow It’s a busy green tropical looking beach town definitely worth more time to visit, we have to go back. Then we hit Samara, has the feel of maybe what Tamarindo might have been like 15 yrs ago. Really loved it, great restaurants, stunning beach, coworker spaces with great internet, cute shops, lots of families, kids playing soccer on the beach and shop owners and small family businesses that seem to really be able to balance work and life goals, and are so wonderfully helpful friendly and informative. If I had young kids and was thinking of moving to a small town and working remotely, this would be one of the towns to consider. Definitely to visit! Santa Teresa we have just arrived and it’s got such a fun young busy surf town vibe, so fun we can’t wait to explore!
So many families with happy kids on the beach, it’s beautiful. We met a lovely Canadian family with two young boys around 4 and 7 who (omg best taco’s 😋😋😋), and they were so happy to be here, we asked what they loved about Costa Rica, and one said he loved that everything was so slow and the other said.. I love that there are no rules. Bedtime, wake up time, dressing, no school, everything is chill, even their parents. 🤣👍💯 ha ha Love it!
3pm beach time, love watching the excitement of new surfers when they catch a wave. 🌊♥️🌊
