The tour includes visiting a neighborhood of rustic wooden homes built almost 100 years ago, a sanctuary of giant trees growing next to a spring-fed creek, a dragonfruit orchard and a small organic farm that represents the future of agriculture in Tempate.

The Discover Tempate tour now is offered twice per day! Only a 15-minute drive from Potrero.

Walking tour starts at 9am.
Horseback tour starts at 2pm.

Includes a two-hour guided tour of the rich history and breathtaking natural beauty of this unique area. See 100-year-old houses made from pochote wood and meet some of the interesting people whose families have lived in Tempate for centuries.

Learn about the majestic trees and fascinating animals found in the cool, shady microclimate of the crystal clear creek that meanders through Tempate.

Discover the culinary and medicinal uses of a wide variety of plants that grow wild in Tempate.

Refreshments also are included. Enjoy the delicious taste of locally grown seasonal fruit and juices served under a canopy in the forest.

Walking Tour -- $35 per person (maximum 6 people)
Horseback Tour -- $65 per person (maximum 4 people)

A hidden gem that’s just a 10-minute drive from Potrero, Tempate is a small pueblo rich in history and natural beauty. This easy walking tour will explore the fascinating past, present and future of rural Guanacaste.

The tour will include visiting a neighborhood of rustic wooden homes built almost 100 years ago, a sanctuary of giant trees growing next to a spring-fed creek, a dragonfruit orchard and a small organic farm that represents the future of agriculture in Tempate.

The two-hour tour will end with refreshments served at the farm.

Registration: $45 per person paid in advance via PayPal ([email protected])
