Everything from start to finish of the adventure tour was executed so smoothly and so perfectly. This company and their guides are extremely professional, experienced and work to ensure your safety and comfort 100% of the time. Experience level is not a concern for them, and they will complete all the activities to fulfill your needs. The guides we had were all local, and had decades worth of experience in kayaking, rafting, hiking, climbing, etc.. They all spoken English fluently and shared beautiful stories and facts about the surrounding areas of Turrialba, CR. The accommodations we stayed in were amazing, especially the Eco Lodge which sits alongside the Pacuare River. The food was fantastic and locally sourced. The airport pickup, drop off and all other transportation in between was so punctual and so smooth. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting Costa Rica! It is a beautiful and fun way to see the country off the beaten path and get to know some of the locals and some other travellers. As a young solo female traveller, I felt extremely safe and well taken care of by Costa Rica Rios. I’ll be back!"

New 5.0-star Review: "A Trip of a Lifetime!I was so elated when I found Costa Rica Rios because they could help customize the trip I was envisioning going on with my family. I simply gave them the areas of Costa Rica we were interested in seeing and the types of activities we like and they put together an amazing 10-day trip itinerary! From the hotel stays to the activities to the private shuttles, this trip was exceptional. The only thing I would suggest is that they give details in the itinerary such as the driver name, guide names/companies, and a detailed description of what attire is necessary. Everything always worked out and we had an exceptional time so no big complaints here. Must see/dos from our trip were Manuel Antonio (Si Como No hotel was wonderful and so was our guided tour with Pablo), Domincal (paragliding with Zion), and the ziplining in Monteverde."

New 5.0-star Review: "A truly memorable week of adventures!Costa Rica Rios put together an incredible 12 days of fun adventures for a group of friends. They went above and beyond to offer a range of activities for folks with different interests: whitewater kayaking/canoeing, rafting (CRR river guides were great!), bird/wildlife watching, hiking, zip lining, beaches, mangroves, etc. Transportation and lodging around the country were prearranged, which made the trip seamless as we experienced different areas of Costa Rica. Tour guides contracted by CRR at the various locations (Biological Reserve, Hanging Bridges, Manuel Antonio NP, mangrove kayaking, etc.) were all top notch. So many opportunities to see and learn! For pure relaxation, I especially appreciated the time at Tabacon Thermal Resort and Spa for long soaks in the super relaxing hot springs, surrounded by beautiful tropical foliage. The only changes I would make to this trip would be to upgrade from a standard room at Villa Florencia, where we had no a/c and no ventilation (the room was apparently being updated). Additionally, we could have used a roomy transport van with better air flow for the transfer from the La Fortuna area to Manuel Antonio. The rest of the transfers were fine, and the roomier van from MA back to SJO was much comfortable for the group."

New 5.0-star Review: "Adventure vacation in Costa RicaMy daughter, husband and I booked the seven day adventure trip with Costa Rica Rios. Everything about the trip was amazing. Our guide (Ninja) was 100% attentive and made sure that everything was taken care of. We had three bad rain days which meant that some of the activities were cancelled but the crew did everything possible to make sure we had a great time. The country is beautiful and part of the trip was staying in an Eco Lodge in the middle of the jungle. It was truly authentic. The crew cooked all our meals which were fresh and delicious. There was so much than what was described. We sucked sugar from freshly cut sugar cane, ate bananas picked from the trees, saw monkeys, toucans, sloths, snakes and other wildlife, spent two days white water rafting, went white water kayaking, swam through rapids and waterfalls, swung over the rainforest on a cable, made burritos at the farm of one of the guides, listened to the rain on the tin roof of the cabins we slept in, went boogie boarding in the Carribean, spent an evening watching a Christmas parade, ate at local restaurants, took an outdoor yoga class and hiked many miles. We were so touched by the kindness of the people. We always had too much food when we were out doing activities and the guides would offer it to anyone passing by, The sense of community in Costa Rica is strong. What made the trip so special were the guides who stayed with us for the whole trip. They were fun, patient, prepared, hardworking, and always ready to go above and beyond. Without a doubt this was one of the best vacations we have ever had. I read somewhere that Costa Rica is the happiest country in the world, which based on its beauty and people I can completely believe it. Thank you Costa Rica Rios for an unforgettable vacation."

We were a group of 18 so a lot of us to organise, both on and off the river!! This was no problem for the CRR team. Guides were fab, they know the rivers like the back of their hands, and were very encouraging. Everything about the week was fantastic, rivers, accommodation, general accommodation, we would do it again at the drop of a hat!! CRR also organised trips pre and post the week of rivers for a number of us. Great recommendations, organisation etc.When I return to Costa Rica I would not hesitate to use CRR again."

The food was delicious, the accommodations were breathtaking and trip itinerary was planned perfectly. Pablo went over and above answering any questions we had about wildlife, bugs or plants. He is very knowledgeable. The other assisting guides were great as well. If you are planning on visiting Costa Rica this is the company to use! Loved every minute! Can’t wait to go back!"

I had no experience in anything we did but the guides ( Pablo Leiva and company) were so expert that I had the confidence to go for it, even the Tarzan Swing! They even have a photographer who travels along with the group taking tons of photos. The Eco Lodge was a gorgeous jungle experience, high up in the mist of the river at sunrise, Wow! Repelling the waterfalls was such a thrill and yet I felt safe the whole time. The smooth organization made our time a real joy. Thanks CRR!"

They take you to the yummy food spots or make you the fresh delish food! We went on the off season so there was only six of us in the group which I loved and Pablo was our guide! He does an excellent job communicating the plans and spotting wildlife. He even took us to his family farm where we made fresh sugar cane juice and cheese tortillas with his aunt and wife! The eco lodge was maybe my favorite part with the most amazing view on the river and jungle. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VACATION"

New 5.0-star Review: "We used Costa Rica Rios to plan our 25th wedding anniversary holiday in March 2023. We were blown away by the entire experience. We chose them because of their excellent reviews and how their advertised experiences closely aligned with what we wanted to do. We had never been to Costa Rica and wanted a balance of activity and rest and be able to see a lot of the country. Within a few back and forth emails, Maria was able to customize a perfect 14 day trip for us. Silvia answered all our questions leading up to and during the trip and took our initial deposit and final payment. Everything was seamless. Costa Rica Rios organized all the hotels, all activities, and all private transfers. As they are based in Turrialba, part of the itinerary was there. It was amazing! The people of Turrialba are so friendly, the scenery is beautiful and there are very few tourists compared to other areas. Highly recommend it! We met staff from Costa Rica Rios as they were our transport from San Jose to Turrialba, and our transport, guides, hosts and chefs for our whitewater rafting trip to Pacuare Eco Lodge and Outdoor Center. Karen, Ninja (Henry), Cocky and others whose names I have forgotten were all knowledgable, caring, friendly and amazing people. Thank you to everyone at Costa Rica Rios for planning and customizing a trip of a lifetime for our 25th anniversary. We spent 14 days enjoying San Jose, Turrialba, Pacuare, Arenal and Manual Antonio with activities such as a Costa Rican cooking class, horseback riding through coffee and sugarcane fields, whitewater rafting along the Pacuare River with overnight stay in a jungle lodge, ziplining and Tarzan jump, amazing hanging bridges hike in Arenal, and a private guided hike in Manual Antonio. Would highly recommend!"

Costa Rica Rios was really great. I went at the end of the season and that worked well for me. Had a great guide for the whole trip and met a lot of great staff members. Loved the food the staff made, their patience overall, and all the adventures we did. I love that this tour kept me active and I was also happy for the downtime. New 5.0-star Review: "See aboveWe did a river float, a mangrove tour float, the Marion Antonio Park tour and the swinging bridge tour. All were fantastic, made GREATLY so by the tour guides we had. Can't leave out the bus drivers either, they were great. The only infrequent draw back was a language issue, but its their country! We should have been advised that NO plastic water bottles of plastic bags are allowed in Marion Antonio Park. It was a hot day and many members had purchased bottled water right before park entry and the Rangers confiscated all the bottles. Special call out to our tour leaders for the park tour, Roger and Paul (I think that was their Americanized names! They were great. There were 19 in our group, all friends from the New Orleans area, and everyone had a GREAT time! The Tabacon resort was forth 5 stars!"
