Too many pictures I have taken that I don't know wich ones to post but here you have some animals to enjoy!
Tortuguero
Last few weeks have been full of work, here an insight! Nothing better than showing this paradise to people who actually love nature and love sharing and learning about the area! I feel blessed that most of you are like that my friends! Pura vida!
A collection of pictures I've taken! Many pokemons! I sometimes become a tourist and take my phone out to capture this beautiful images!
The most famous frog in Costa Rica, at least one that a lot of people would like to observe! The red-eyed leaf frog! Agalychnis callidryas! Used to be in the family Hylidae now currently in the Phyllomedusidae! With 7 in Costa Rica divided in two genus (Agalychnis and Cruziohyla)
Nocturnal and arboreal frog, during the day it sleeps on the underside of a broad leaf, with limbs folded tightly against its sides to mask the outline of the body and to prevent dehydration, it prefers humid places, it's found close to water pools. It can be pretty hard to spot because of its green color and it camouflages very well, I prefer to spot them by sight and not from their calls when the males are calling the females because I can't find them like this Lol, the females are usually larger than the males and they do axillary amplexus when mating, females usually choose the largest males wich are the ones producing the loudest calls. Their clutches of eggs could go from 20-50 eggs on leaf close to water pools. Did you know that on the pacific side of costa rica they have darker colors being the ones on the Caribbean side more colorful? Their bright red eyes are thought to be an aposematic color to distract posible predators to think they might be poisonous or dangerous!
A little collection of the green vine snake! Oxybelis fulgidus! Belongs to the family Colubridae(colubrid snakes) around 700 sp thought to be in the world and In Costa we have 42 species!
I've taken these pictures during some night walks! This species is diurnal but I have seen it more during the night when they are resting on the bushes or really high up in the trees! Very distinctive pointy head and the yellowish dorsal line, also it has a bright green color(cryptic color that allows it to be more camouflaged) compared to some leptophis sp known as" fake parrot snake " that have A darker green and rounded snout. We have 3 sp in the genus Oxybelis, all of them we can find in Tortuguero, this particular one likes eating birds or rodents, it's arboreal so it likes moving through the trees and bushes, its color makes it really hard to spot, it could measure up to 2 meter 20 centimeters! It is oviparous and up to 14 eggs have been reported in a clutch.
One of my favorite ones to see, they are very chill usually, but never get to comfortable, always remember to respect these type of animals when you see them!
A little few pictures I've taken recently! The beauty never stops! And I need to. Complete the Pokémon pokedex! 😂💯

The idea of uploading pictures is for you my friends to enjoy through this pictures this paradise that you have visited or will visit eventually! Pura vida!
We had a great time during a hill tour, we even were lucky to observe an "Oropel" eyelash pit-viper, people call Oropel to the Yellow Morpho or yellow version of this species! View point in Tortuguero is one that is not there to be missed!
Bothriechis schlegelii, Eye-lash Palm-Pitviper. A venomous snake, one of the 21 species that could kill you in the country, they are nocturnal, and arboreal, it has a prehensible tail. They have eyelashes, modified scales, some hypothesis are it helps the snake to remove roots and branches away avoiding damage like scratches! They sit and wait for birds and rodents. One fun fact about them is that they can come in a lot of different colors! Not something you get to see everyday!
A little spam of some pictures I think I haven't posted yet! Hope you like them!

Last days have been fun! 👌
Green sea turtle babies! Some of you have seen the adults with me, well, those are the babies almost ready to go to the sea in a procces know as "the race of life", sea turtles are incredible creatures that needs to go through anything and everything just to go back to the place they were hatched, in this case to Tortuguero! According to the Stc maybe 1 out of 1000 eggs will make it to be 25 years old to be able to return here. We have to make great efforts to continue protecting this beautiful animals.
Wanna see something cool? Look at this beautiful boa constrictor, I was lucky to spot this beauty while doing a night walk, not very common to observe a boa here. Some of you know that I have had them in my room, in my bathroom, I'm their friend now 😅. Boas are pretty chill snakes, they can be arboreal or terrestrial as you see in the picture it's one on a brach, the bigger they are the more on the ground they will be, but even then they can climb pretty easily. They hunt a lot of different things, from frogs, lizards, rats up to a deer if they are big enough, they could go up to 4 meter on length from 4 to 6 kilograms, it's viviparous so they "give birth". .
In case you wonder why is it hard to find sloths? This is a 3 toed sloth, well camouflage in this tree trunk! 🇨🇷
The largest frog we have in the country! Bull frog! LEPTODACTYLUS SAVAGEI
The largest Iguana we have in Costa Rica(we have 3 species), the green iguana. I call them "little Godzillas".

Pudimos observar esta hermosa caracolera en el tour nocturno! We got to see this beautiful snail eater during the night walk! Come and enjoy the experience! Ven y disfruta de la experiencia!
In the video we can observe an Anhinga having some fish for breakfast!, this is a bird that we can usually see on the canoe tour's or kayak tour's in the canals of the national park of Tortuguero, it dives to fish, holding it's breath for around 20 seconds, using it's long and sharp bill as an harpoon, then as you can see on the video they loose the fish a little to then swallow it all starting by the head! Anhinga anhinga. Snake bird, Anhinga. Pato aguja, Anhinga.
