Truly amazing, I found this on the morning dog.walk. Thanks to friends and nature enthusiasts Christy and Andreas for identifying the type of mushroom - A Phallus indusiatu, Bridal veil stinkhorn. They attract insects to disperse their spores.

It never ends! There are too many dogs in need and our local shelter is busting at the seams. I do very little but at least it's something. I dedicate some of the revenue from La Palmera towards castration/medication to help as many street dogs that my budget allows.

Here's a new one, and another typical story.

This is Lobo (Wolf). Lobo used to have a family. Unfortunately, after his owners divorced and parted ways, neither could keep him. He was left on the streets to take care of himself. A local locksmith noticed him hanging around his house/business, but he already had dogs of his own so he could not take Lobo in, all he can do is feed him and provide a bed outside so that he can have some comfort. Lobo's "home" right now is outside under the car port of our local locksmith.

Today with the help of one of our local vets, Lobo got a check up. 8 botflies were removed, as well as nails trimmed and medication for fleas and ticks was given. He has a full belly, and part of my morning ritual now is stopping by to give him a nice meal consisting of rice, chicken, chicken liver and kibble.
