One of our favorite restaurants near Uvita is called La Parcela. They offer the best views in the area. Their service is great and their food is delicious! 😋
Plus, they are often visited by capuchin monkeys and they have some beautiful trails around their property. 🐒🌴

Everyone wants to see a sloth when visiting Costa Rica. But where can you see them?

Here are our tips for visitors to the Uvita area:

1- Plan a guided hike at Manuel Antonio National Park. Benefit from our guide’s knowledge, expert eye and professional tools to spot a sloth for you!

2- Take a night tour! Yes, even at night you can see a sloth :) We had some great feedback lately from this tour and our guide will know where to look out for one (no guarantee but you should give it a try!).

3- Go out as much as possible! Very often our clients will see a sloth when doing a rafting tour, an ATV tour or a horseback riding tour! Go to the beach and take a stroll under the almond trees, visit some waterfalls, etc… And look up!
Sloths can be everywhere so you have to keep your eyes peeled and create as many opportunities as possible.

4- Last option: visit Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary between Uvita and Dominical. It’s not like seeing one in the wild but you will take some nice pictures and learn a lot about the CR wildlife while supporting a great cause!
