🥚 The color of the first boiled egg must be red.
🥚 Eggs hitting (Tucanje jajima) is an inevitable tradition during Easter in Serbia.
🥚 After Lent - a 40-day fasting period - for Easter breakfast believers can finally eat meat and other products of animal origin.
🥚 Instead of Happy Easter, the Easter greeting in Serbia sounds like: Hristos vaskrse or Hristos voskrese (It means Christ has risen).

Interesting facts about Djerdap! ⤵

👉 Djerdap is the largest National Park in Serbia, which covers area of 63,786.5 ha.

👉 The Djerdap Gorge, which is some 100 km long (from Golubac to Tekija), is actually a compound river valley made up of four gorges (Gornja klisura, Gospođin vir, Veliki and Mali kazan and Sipska klisura), separated from each other by ravines.

👉 In Gospođin vir, one of the greatest river depths in the world has been measured - 82 m.

👉 There are several excellent natural scenic viewpoints, like the Veliki štrbac and Mali štrbac on the Miroč, above the Kazan gorge.

👉 In Djerdap National Park you should visit 3 magnificent location: Tabula Traiana, Golubac Fortress and Lepenski Vir archeological site.

👉 Founded in the 12th century (circa 1190) by Stefan Nemanja, the founder of the Nemanjić dynasty, STUDENICA MONASTERY is renowned for its medieval architecture and frescoes.

👉 Founded in the early 13th century (1219-1220) by Serbian King Stefan the First-Crowned, ŽIČA MONASTERY served as the coronation church of the Serbian kings. The architecture is notable for its red bricks and white stones, creating a distinctive appearance.

👉 TUMAN MONASTERY, also known as Tumane, is situated in the homonymous village near Golubac. It is known for its peaceful surroundings and offers a tranquil retreat for those seeking spiritual contemplation.

👉 Located in Serbia's central region, MANASIJA MONASTERY was founded in the early 15th century (1406-1418) by Despot Stefan Lazarević. The monastery complex includes a church, residential quarters, and a defensive wall with towers.

👉 Nestled in the Fruška Gora mountain range, KRUŠEDOL MONASTERY was founded in the 16th century (1509) by Bishop Maksim. It is one of the prominent monasteries in the Fruška Gora region, known for its vineyards and numerous monastic complexes.
