📗 We are happy to share some take aways from the discussion of today's panel on the future of at the conference "Interreg: developing a vision for the future" organised by the European Committee of the Regions, Interact Programme and the Presidency of today and moderated by AEBR's Secretary General Martín Guillermo Ramirez:

🟢 Interreg is a community, a way of building new values and trust especially cross-border.

🟢 Border obstacles of legal or administrative nature are still painful because they affect us in everyday life.

🟢 By removing obstacles, we would do great services to the people living in border regions but also to the EU as a whole.

🟢 Interreg objective "Better cooperation governance" is fundamental as it deals with enhancing the capacity of institutions to tackle border obstacles.

🟢 More is needed to remove obstacles: An EU instrument can help local authorities address legal and administrative obstacles hindering cross-border cooperation through a standard procedure.

AEBR Secretary General Martin Guillermo Ramirez, b-solutions Experts Caitriona Mullan and Maria Garayo are at the famous Hospital de Cerdanya / Hôpital de Cerdagne today for a crucial EU b-solutions event focusing on cross border labour markets- the building blocks of , and .

Cerdanya was the first completely cross border hospital to be established in the and has been a pioneer of significant models of cooperation and regional cross border health ecosystems which are more relevant now than ever as Europe faces generational challenges.

The lack of agreement on home office in the Dutch-Belgian-German border region 🇧🇶🇧🇪🇩🇪 poses a big challenge for cross-border workers to navigate their rights and conditions applicable in terms of taxation or social security affiliations 📝.

🔎 We are launching a call for information to collect information on the difficulties experienced by people who live and work in border regions.

🫵 Do you live in one country but works in the neighbouring country? Therefore, do you commute on a regular basis by public transports across the border? Do you do your grocery shopping or go to the doctor on other side of the border?

👥 In conducting all these activities and many more which are part of your daily life as a cross-border worker or citizen, you may encounter difficulties to access a public service, get accurate information on administrative matters or find a job because your diploma has not been recognised in the neighbouring region or country.

We will follow up on the information you shared with us and, if possible, suggest potential solutions through b-solutions.
