The view over Vedado, Havana down to El Malecon. Vedado is the nightlife area of Havana and has a certain vibrancy to it and is also home to much neoclassical, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco architecture. On a walking tour with LSC you'll see it all!

Since the 1959 revolution this has been known as the "Plaza de la Revolución". But it was in fact planned and built long before and was called the Plaza Civica, intended to be part of a modern new urban centre for the new Havana. The former dicatator Batista had hoped it's prestige would give him credibility and popularise his government. In 1959 Fidel Castro decreed it to be the symbol of his revolution.

An historic site well worth a visit. Oh and the view from the top of the monument is spectacular!

It's one of our favourite guide's birthday today! Happy birthday Frank! Feliz cumpleanos!

A little about Frank. Well FRank hails from Baracoa and he’s a big fan of all types of seafood, his favourite dish is "Tetí de Baracoa". This is a delicious local dish made of fried Teti,(a tiny local fish), peppers and onions simmered in coconut milk. Oh and it's said to be a great aphrodisiac too!
Frank's passions are Cuban music, salsa dancing, Cuban culture and Cuban history. All of which he is keen to share this with his travellers, in English, French and of course Spanish! On top of that he's also learning to play guitar!
