Today August 27, is the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of the WHALE Center.

It is syncronistic that on the anniversary of the 4th anniversary of the WHALE Center August 27th also became White Buffalo Calf Day.

Synchronistic because 2 years earlier the WHALE Center formed an alliance and partnership with Four Worlds Development so the number 4 was of special significance.

For the past several years I have been working with the Blue Community initiative where we have developed a model for sustainable tourism that operates within the limits of the 9 planetary boundaries. Unfortunately we seem to be to unique in paying attention for the need of sustainable tourism to be strongly rooted in the science of the 9 planetary boundaries.

In this Ted Talk Johan Rockstrom, who led the team that developed the research and model for planetary boundaries shares why the situation calls for urgent action more than ever.

Sustainable Tourism can be a leader in this needed transformation if it will utilize this science in their models and actions.
