ARC+ 2024 - At Sea
The fleet are still following in the wake of Sizzle who has Piment Rouge in hot 🌶️ pursuit! Dave on O'Vive has reported the loss of spinnaker following wanting a top three finish too badly, but still managing a very respectable 8.6kn! Others in the fleet are taking things at a more leisurely pace, with Dagmar enjoying freshly baked bread and hot showers thanks to their new hydrogenator! Fishing successes (and failures) have been reported, with Duet, Myrto and Imi Ola all catching mahi mahi today, sadly Les Papillons lost their lucky lure!

In other wildlife related news, a flying fish managed to land on the bimini of Avanti 6+ meters from the waterline, before making its way onto the bow and back into the sea! That's got to be some kind of record!

With the first arrivals expected in tomorrow afternoon, the majority of the fleet are now officially sailing in the tropics having crossed the Tropic of Cancer.

Na próxima quarta-feira, 6 de novembro a Marina Mindelo irá receber 27 Iates da REGATA RALLYE DES ILES DU SOLEIL, com aproximadamente 90 tripulantes de diversas nacionalidades.

A Marina Mindelo agradece imensamente a todos os participantes e todos os que se uniram a nós na campanha de limpeza da praia Praia de Bote, realizada hoje dia 23 de Maio. Esta iniciativa não teria sido possível sem o esforço conjunto e a dedicação de cada um de vocês.

Ao Ministério do Mar de Cabo Verde, Projeto Amdjer d txeu luta, a CMSV, a Delegacia de Saúde, a Moave e aos nossos colaboradores, o nosso mais sincero obrigado.

** Um especial agradecimento a Forças Armadas de Cabo Verde pelo apoio inestimável e pela mobilização de 30 MILITARES que trabalharam arduamente na limpeza da praia.

Reconhecemos que é necessário um trabalho árduo e profundo, com recursos especializados, para enfrentar os desafios ambientais que estas praias enfrentam. Continuaremos a buscar soluções sustentáveis e a colaborar com todos os parceiros para implementar medidas de conservação efetivas.

Vamos continuar unidos, comprometidos e determinados a fazer a diferença, garantindo que nossas praias sejam um patrimônio bem cuidado e protegido para as futuras gerações.

Welcome Viking Explorers to Marina Mindelo

⛵✨🛟⚓⛵

Marina Mindelo, founded in 2005, is the official host for the stopover in Sao Vicente, at the Cape Verde Islands and has been collaborating with the event since the beginning. The Viking Explorers staff together with the marina staff will ensure a safe and warm welcome for the fleet. Marina Mindelo will be tracking the fleet, and will be ready for their arrival after their journey from the Canary Islands. They will be greeted with a Welcome Envelope with vital information, discounts and a welcome party with local food.
Mindelo Marina and Viking Explorers have been working together to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stopover at this part of the world, before leaving for their big jump across the Atlantic, towards the shores of Grenada.
