TURTLE WATCH 2025 🐢

Yesterday, a conference was held focused on the protection of sea turtles, bringing together key stakeholders such as tourism companies, the Maritime and Port Institute, and the Tourism Institute, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

During the event, a new decree was presented, which has already been submitted to the government, outlining regulations for sea turtle watching tours starting next year, particularly for 2025.

We are pleased to be included in the planning process and to receive early updates on these important changes. Most importantly, we appreciate the clear explanation behind these decisions. 🤗💙

We often get asked, "What kinds of sand can be found on Sal Island?" Well, we have a delightful variety here, each with its own charm:

· White Sand: Mostly found on Santa Maria Beach, this sand is a lovely blend of finely ground coral and shells, giving it a bright appearance and a soft, smooth feel.
· Golden Sand: Predominantly seen at Murdeira or Ponta Preta Beach, this sand is a mix of small pebbles and shells, offering a unique texture and golden hue.
· Black Sand: Though less common on Sal Island, black sand is typically located in areas with higher volcanic activity or where basalt rock has been eroded over time.
· Mixed Sand: Found in many coastal areas, especially at Kite Beach, this sand combines white and golden hues, creating a beautifully varied landscape.

As you might guess, the wind and natural environmental changes often transform these beaches, giving each visit a unique touch.

🇨🇻 Happy Independence Day, Cape Verde! 🎉

Today marks 49 years of independence, a day of immense pride and gratitude for all Cape Verdeans. On July 5th, 1975, after much bloodshed and struggle, our beloved nation gained the freedom to make its own decisions without external permission. We fought, we persevered, and we triumphed.

Today, we celebrate this monumental achievement and honor those who made it possible for us to be free. We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has joined us on our island tours and shown interest in the story of our independence. Though we don't have pictures of everyone, here are just a few of the many people we've had the pleasure of sharing the beauty of this island and its rich history with.
