Discover the World Under the Sea
The design of the new Caribbean Guilder draws inspiration from the "World Under the Sea". The front of the banknotes depicts the vibrant marine life native to Curaçao and Sint Maarten and symbolizes the unity of the two countries. The diversity of unique aquatic life serves as a reminder that, despite our distinct identities, we are connected by collaboration and shared objectives. The reverse of the banknotes showcases significant historical and cultural landmarks of both countries.
The banknotes are designed with a traditional landscape-oriented front, and an innovative vertical orientation for the reverse. It’s the first time that vertically oriented banknotes are issued in Curaçao and Sint Maarten.
The Caribbean guilder banknote series consists of 5 banknotes of the following denominations: Cg 10, Cg 20, Cg 50, Cg 100, and Cg 200. Each denomination has a specific color and 7 coins.
