Akrounta Village

The BIG WAVES
Hey,
Every day at work as much as I sit with my mind focused on numbers and prospects as much I want to fly away and forget about all this surrounding which makes me feel so normal and so fit to society…
I often dream... I try to rather remember places I went to than places I want to go to.
The difference is very simple – it is better to be excited to remember what I have experienced than to be depressed what I haven’t done yet 
I have another place to share with you… I call this place – The Big Waves.
It’s a place so easy to be missed… If you drive from Pafos towards Coral Bay, you go down off the curve and after several buildings all of the sudden on your left you see a beautiful shore and amazing turquoise color of the waters. You just have a minute to look to the left but before you realize what is there you are too far to stop and – knowing even myself by the first time – you miss it. It is worth to take the first possible exit and go back.
In this place I have seen the biggest waves in Cyprus so far. It is amazing to see the power of the nature with which you can play with.
The beach is guarded by bay watch, sometimes it is forbidden to go into the sea.
I could tell you a funny story when once I saw a man tried to impress his lady and just stood up to a wave 6 meters high … It smashed him down, swallowed him back to the sea and then spit him out to the shore …
The most important thing was that – he survived. But most funny that he went in with long hair as pony tail and he came out bald as my knee. He lost his wig... LOL
He put the whole team of life guards on feet and, trust me, he got a good lesson.
The another most beautiful thing of this place is that after you will be so exhausted of playing with waves you can relax with the most beautiful sunset as the sun in Pafos always goes down at the horizon just in front of your eyes.
There is no more relaxing thing than to fall into your imaginations and dreams covered with the warmest sunset light blanket. If you are a photographer than you know that it is the best light to take splendid pictures and make your memories unforgettable here in Cyprus.
And then of course you come back to my place, have relaxing drink, sit down and watch your pictures on 50’ screen TV and enjoy the rest of your evening waiting the next day having so much to discover for you. You just don’t know yet what is waiting for you ...

ADONIS BATHS
Let me tell you about Adonis Baths…
The place which since I discovered I always get back to at least once per year.
It is just a few kilometers from my place.
The road which will take you there will awake a thrill in you but most places I go - will.
When you think you are at the end of nowhere you will finally see Her… the Aphrodite above trees and bushes. Now you know you are there!
Huge sculpture will let you know you are in the right place.
Parking is everywhere, no worries for that.
At the entrance Aphrodite and Adonis will welcome you.
The story tells that this was the place where they met and … had fun ;)
The fact is that this place is amazing. Do you remember “Blue Lagoon” movie?
This place will take you to its scenery with its beauty.
When you go down and see the lake it will make you to jump in but be aware from very cold water as it comes straight from its source – the waterfall above you.
Climb the stairs and you will reach higher levels. From the 1st you can jump into the lake if you are brave and crazy enough… I wasn’t. I am still a chicken ;)
You will find sculptures of Aphrodite and Adonis, another bath and at the end the source of the waterfall where it begins. It is amazing to see how from a such a small stream it all begins.
There is an entrance fee but for one-time life experience it is worth!
After this excited day you will of course rest and chill out at my place. ;)

Hi,
on this page I am going to share with you the most spectacular experiences I had on this beautiful island.
When I came to Cyprus I saw so little and I was already amazed. I decided to explore it " to the bones " ( it's my favorite expression ;) ) so every weekend I drove the roads of Cyprus. The idea was whatever direction I decide to go - I go. I discovered places that even my local friends didn't know.
It's my thing: to discover>see>touch>smell>taste...
Wherever I go I need to see EVERYTHING
And this everything I want to share with you.
Why?
Because once you come to Cyprus how often do you think to come back here?
Probably it will be one time life experience so why to waste time on some " popular" touristic places if you can spend this time my way and have spectacular, unforgettable holidays of your life ? And of course after all day of such an exciting day just relax chill out and have sweet night in my place ;)
