We wanted to go to a place where the universe smells of stars at midnight, where it is enough to stretch out your hand - and the night will fall right into your palm. Therefore, our choice fell on a house with a clock in the village of Vouni. Around vineyards, 800 m above sea level and 150 neighbors in the whole village. The owners greeted them as relatives whom they had not seen since last Easter. They did not know where to sit better and what else to treat. The house did not disappoint expectations. Not big, with everything you need for a comfortable stay, while everything is somehow fabulous and cozy, with a huge number of cute little things that are pleasant and interesting to look at. And very, very clean! The view from the balcony and from the bathroom at night seemed to be drawn by Van Gogh's hand. The church across the road, if you can call it a cobblestone lane two cars wide, strengthened this association (Van Gogh grew up in a priest's family), and added mysticism and local flavor to the lunar landscape. The silence around at first was deafening. Then it released and became possible all that for which we went here ... Convenient geographical location of the village. All major attractions of Troodos are within a 30-40 minute drive. To the most remote - an hour. The village itself is similar to the most popular Cypriot ones, such as Lefkara or Omodos, only there are no crowds of tourists and you can wander the streets calmly. The hosts will be happy to advise you on what to visit in the area and send WhatsApp links based on your preferences. They speak English, local and sign language and pantomime if all else fails. We started our excursions, having previously gone down to the Pissouri beach early in the morning (25 minutes drive, few people, there are trees for shade, pebbles, stones, it is better to enter from a pontoon, with small children it is difficult, the water is cooler than, for example, in Protaras). There is practically no food store in the village, you have to bring your own. The hosts left us compliments of food in the fridge - everything we need for a great breakfast and a bottle of delicious local wine!
Short stay, 5 days was not enough to enjoy))
