Dolomites, Italy 🇮🇹

It’s easy to see why the Adolf Munkel Trail is considered one of the best half-day hikes in the Dolomites.

Bergen 🇳🇴

Bergen, city and port, southwestern Norway. The principal port and business section is on a peninsula projecting into By Fjord, bounded to the north by the inlet and harbour of Vågen (for small ships) and on the south by Pudde Bay (for larger vessels) and the Store Lungegårds Lake.

Originally called Bjørgvin, the city was founded in 1070 by King Olaf III Haraldsson. About 1100 a castle was built on the northern edge of Vågen harbour, and Bergen became commercially and politically important; it was Norway’s capital in the 12th and 13th centuries. An episcopal see was established there in the 12th century. A trade centre for centuries, Bergen exported fish and furs and imported grain and manufactured goods. In the 14th century, German Hanseatic merchants acquired control over the city’s trade; their influence in a weakened Norway lasted into the 17th century. Bergen has remained the most important port on the west coast of Norway, despite its repeated destruction by fire (most notably in 1702 and 1916); wider streets and buildings of brick and stone have been built in response to these disasters.

Senja 🇳🇴

Segla is the most recognizable mountain on Senja Island in Norway. It was the picture of Segla that immediately convinced me to visit Senja. And there is no surprise why! Segla rises 639 meters above sea level and the view of it looks almost unreal. The east side of the mountain is rising gently, whereas the steep cliffs on the west side drop directly into the fjord. The hikes to Segla and Hesten are worth being put on the list of the best hikes in Norway!

Hamnoy in Norway 🇳🇴

is located in the south of the Lofoten islands and is one of the classic photo spots of the Lofoten. The typical red wooden houses (Rorbuer) are located directly on the water and you have an imposing mountain view in the background.

Langfossen 🇳🇴

Langfoss waterfall drops down the steep mountainside with great power, looking like a bride's wail from a distance. A nature's wonder and a beauty to watch, this is one of the highlights visiting the west coast of Norway.
The great Langfoss waterfall drops 600 meters down to the fjord below. Just 1h 30 min or so from Haugesund, you may experience the waterfall that CNN voted one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world.

The waterfall Driving alongside Åkrafjorden, it is impossible to miss Langfoss waterfall. The road brings you just next to the waterfall, and if you roll down the windows as you pass by in your car, you can feel the light drops of the waterfall on you skin. And you will hear the sound of the water running down the steep mountain next to you, wild and powerful. Still, you should stop the car at the small parking lot next to it, to take a look at the white, foamy water dancing around like little clouds, surrounding the water dropping straight into the fjord beneath.

Preikestolen 🇳🇴

Preikestolen is one of the most popular tourist attraction in Norway. Every summer, well over 200,000 visitors make the climb up the imposing ledge and marvel at the view over Lysefjord. In this article, you will find the facts and information on how to visit this must-see attraction.

Preikestolen at a glance

• Elevation of hike: 334 m
• Height above sea level: 604 m
• Duration of hike: 1-4 hours (depending on traffic)
• The length of the trail: 3.8 km (each way)
• Best time to visit: April to October

Despite its intimidating appearance, the hike up to the ledge is actually quite moderate. The hike up to the edge of Preikestolen will usually take the average hiker about one or two hours. The trail is 3.8 km each way and has a total elevation of 334 metres.

The walk up to Preikestolen starts at a place called Preikestolenhytta.
