Barbora Krejcikova edges out Jasmine Paolini to win Wimbledon crown. The 28-year-old Czech and No. 31 seed became the eighth different woman to win Wimbledon in the last eight years when she beat No. 7 Jasmine Paolini, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, in the ladies final.

“I think nobody really believes it,” she said. “Nobody believes that I got to the final. And nobody’s gonna believe that I won Wimbledon.

Czech Olympic Uniforms for Opening Ceremony in Paris Revealed

The most striking element of the distinctive and modern collection is a blue and white trench coat, also inspired by the Czech “baloňák” coat. This item was created in collaboration between the Czech Olympic Team, ALPINE PRO, and designer Jan Černý.

The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris will take place from 26 July to 11 August, with some competitions starting on 24 July.

Famous Orient Express seen in Prague on one of its exclusive journeys of Europe

All cars of this famous train were bought by the millionaire James B. Sherwood. He had them reconstructed so that they could drive on today's tracks at a speed of up to one hundred and sixty kilometers. The Belmond company offers luxury travel across Europe with them under the current name Venice Simplon-Orient Express.

Then legendary train, made up of restored luxury cars from the 1920s and 1930s, does not run a regular line to Istanbul anymore. Instead it heads to selected European destinations. Although the Turkish capital is also one of them, Venice is a frequent destination, and occasionally it also pays a visit to Prague. And that was the case this year, on July 8 the train arrived in Prague and on Wednesday left on the return trip to Paris.

Ticket price starts at EUR 4,500 but can easily be double or triple of this amount.

The first week of July at ITC Travel was supposed to run in a seemingly vacation mode but apparently it is not yet the time ;-)

A congress group is returning today from four nights´ stay in Helsinki. Apart from their professional programme guests had the chance to sample Finnish hospitality and gastronomic delights in iconic fish restaurant Merimakasiini on the shore of Helsinki port and in the iconic Ravintola Muru Restaurant.

At the same time a small group is taking off for almost three weeks in Orlando, Miami and Bahamas.

Last but not least a tourist group from Japan just checked in in Karlovy Vary on their Central European tour. This week is really hectic for this little town nested in the West Bohemian forests bordering Germany as it is hosting traditional Karlovy Vary Film Festival on these days.

Gold and silver statuettes are waiting for this year's winner. The crystal globe, which comes from the hands of Moser glassmakers, is attached to a bronze statue, designed by Ema Černáková, the second vice-miss of the Czech Republic in 2001.

A busy day for us @ ITC Travel & Conference with three different events in progress: A corporate meeting starts today in Mikulov, South Moravia, a Romantic Danube pre-cruise group arriving for a 2-day Prague stay. Two double decker buses left Prague at 5:00am with a student group for a two day school trip to Strasbourg.

After six months of thorough minute-by-minute planning a four-day bus tour is back in the north of Czechia.

A special interest program has just returned from site visits in Czechia and Slovakia. Main tour highlights on this tour were the hydro-power plant in Central Bohemia, Bojnice Chateau visited on a day not normally available for regular tourist groups, falconry show, silver and coal mines in Central Slovakia including the historic mining town of Banska Stiavnica and Trenčín Castle.
A thrilling program, everyone got home safely.

When night and day meet

4:45am loading the bus with radios, snacks, waters and other useful stuff at Prague bus depot before going to Vilshofen Germany to meet with another Romantic Danube Prague extension heading to Prague Andaz Hotel. In spite of a not too exciting weather forecast for these days we finally seem to be OK. Historic centre of Regensburg is obvoiusly warm and with almost clear sky inviting for a commented walk.

Several groups from Japan chose Prague this spring to celebrate The Year of Music and ITC Travel facilitated their ground services.

Beside a serie of private concerts the Prague Spring Festival opening was just one of many highlights in Czechia before they continued their European tour in the neighbouring countries.

Full day tour of a little West Bohemian town Žatec (1h15min from Prague) was inspired by beer but not only that.

It is also known for its rich history, numerous architectural landmarks, film crews frequently using its authentic appearance when shooting historic movies and commercials and of course the scenic countryside around it.

Day 2 in Paris: morning river cruise, Trocadero, Arc de Triomphe in detail and break for lunch. Afternoon visit to the top of the Eiffel Tower with a glass of Moët champagne.

A special day in many respects:
* much less traffic on the roads thanks to countrywide holidays
* packed monuments and restaurants mainly due to higher interest from the local public and foreign tourists on this free day
* preparatory activities culminating all across the city centre as the Olympic Games opening date is nearing
* nice and sunny morning and afternoon followed by a rainy and thunderstorm evening

May Day in France is a very special day symbolized by love and respect and a small flower gift to the dearest ones, typically a lily of the valley

Morning choo choo train tour of Caen town center followed by a visit of the ancient castle with mighty walls built in 1060 by William the Conqueror. Castle currently undergoing major reconstruction and hence partially hiding behind scaffolding, works to be finished in 2025.

Finally hurry up to Paris to board the cruise ship: two hours´ speed train transfer Caen to Paris St Lazare Train Station and on to the hotel by the bus.
