Koláče! Many Americans especially from Chicago and Texas know this Czech culinary treasure also with savoury fillings. But the original koláče are made sweet with jam, cottage cheese, nuts, apples or poppy seeds. These were baked in an amazing little village called Holešovice in South Bohemia which by the way is on UNESCO World herritage list.

The Zvíkov Castle from a bird's eye view 👀

The originally royal castle 🏰 stretching above the surface of the Orlík Reservoir is often called the “king of Czech castles” and it rightfully has its place among the gems of the Czech early Gothic architecture. The first written mention comes from 1234, but it was most probably built a bit earlier. The Czech kings chose it as a place for rest and protection of the Bohemian crown jewels. 👑

Tabor is one of our always favourite stops when travelling in South Bohemia. 😉

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐚́𝐛𝐨𝐫 was founded by the Hussites in 1️⃣4️⃣2️⃣0️⃣ and it is the second largest town in the South Bohemian Region. The highest point of the town is dominated by the Gothic Dean's Church with a lookout tower ⛪️. From a height of 7️⃣5️⃣ metres you can see the whole town of Tábor and the surrounding countryside. Explore also the late-Gothic Town-Hall where the Hussite Museum is located and from where Tabor's underground corridors can be entered 🔦.

This year we are celebrating 180 years anniversary of the birth of Antonin Dvorak, one of the greatest composers the world ever seen in Nelahozeves, tiny village North of Prague. Today at the festival Dvorakova Nelahozeves we also hold a tribute to president Vaclav Havel who visited the village exactly 30 years ago. #❤️
