This is one of the underground chambers in the Salt Mines in Wieliczka, Poland a well known attraction for visitors to Krakow. But did you know that it was excavated in the 13th century and one of the world’s oldest operating salt mine. It is also a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1978

This may look like a building from one of those movies you’ve seen (we’re not saying which one). But in case you didn’t know, this is one of the most important Romanesque buildings in Normandy. Founded in 1063 by William the Conqueror, this is the Abbaye aux Hommes or The Abbey of Saint-Étienne. So if you’re taking on the beaches of Normandy, the Abbey is also worth a visit in the region.

Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris is considered one of the most famous Gothic Cathedrals from the Middle Ages. Paris’ incredible churches. But did you know that it caught fire in 2019 & the building’s spire collapsed. Amazingly its stone vaulted ceiling prevented damage to the interior ceiling. It will be fully restored by 2024

Saint-Étienne-du-Mont Church is one of Paris’ incredible churches. But did you know that work on the church started in 1492 and was finished in 1626. That’s 134 yrs which explains why you see both Gothic & Renaissance styles both inside and out. So when in Paris, this is worth a visit apart from the usual sights.
