Prague metro celebrates 50 years this year!
Amazing design. The first line to open was the current red line C from Florence to Kačerov. Prague's public transport is the second best in the world (after Berlin). The Prague metro network consists of three lines A (green), B (yellow), C (red), with trains running every 2-4 minutes at peak times, every 5-10 minutes at other times. All metro lines operate from 5:00 am to 24:00 pm.
The picture is from Náměstí Míru station. It is the deepest and has the longest escalator in Central Europe!
If your wander around Prague takes you to the Náměstí Míru metro station, you will surely be attracted by the beautiful neo-Gothic church of St. Ludmila - our first female saint and grandmother of St. Wenceslas, whose statue can be seen on Wenceslas Square just below the National Museum. In the nearby streets, be sure to visit Bistro Café Laskavá - with the best coffee and cakes for miles around! 😋
From the roof of the National Museum of Agriculture. Open to the public with a valid museum ticket.

With lovely Meredith and Chris and their lovely kids. It was a very pleasant full day walk! Thank you so much! 😘
The cutest house in Prague 😊 Come and see it for free - after the closing time of Prague Castle interiors.
An update of a place with tulips ...
If you want to escape the tourist crowds in Old Town Square and in front of the Astronomical Clock and enjoy a moment of peace and calm while having a delicious coffee or beer or wine or homemade lemonade, this is the place to come! It's literally next to the astronomical clock and anyone who doesn't know about it probably won't discover it on their own. Besides, from the window you have a wonderful view of the historic houses opposite the astronomical clock.
New attaction in Prague! In addition to the moving butterflies/Spitfire - the work of artist David Černý (by the way, right below is his rotating head of Franz Kafka), the reopened Máj department store also offers pleasant seating with incredible views!
Rosarium - rose orchard. This is a truly amazing place! Speaking of roses, this is the best place in Prague to see roses blooming in many different colours. Take a funicular to Petřín hill. For 15-65 years old - a ticket for 60 CZK, other ages for free or if you have a long term ticket (at least for 24 hours), the funicular ride is included. 😉
June - time of roses in Prague. This is in Franciscan garden, at Wenceslas Square. And you can also have a great coffee there at Head Shot Coffee. 😉
When you are at the Prague airport, don't forget to come and see this unique work of art - a portrait of Václav Havel - our first democratic president after the Velvet Revolution. The portrait is made from his personal belongings and can be found in the arrivals hall of Terminal 2.
The best way to spend a warm evening in Prague is on the the river bank! Evening walk from Malostranská metro station along the river, to Charles Bridge, cross the bridge, take a tram at Karlovy lázně to Jiráskovo náměstí, see Dancing House and go down to the the river bank called "Náplavka" and enjoy the view of Prague Castle with something delicious to eat and drink 😉
Some entertainment for the evening. Kellyxír - The Alchemist's Laboratory pub - here you can have almost any drink (except coffee, tea, wine and beer), which will be steaming and served to you in a flask. And even the indoor areas are decorated in alchemical style. There's even a copy of a unique portrait of Emperor Rudolf II by the painter Archimboldo, made entirely of fruit and vegetables. During the day, you can visit the alchemists' museum in the tower dating back to 1546. The famous alchemist Edvard Kelly lived there at the time!
A hidden gem right by the Malostranská metro station. The Wallenstein Garden under the Prague Castle is an oasis of peace and relaxation in a tourist location. The unique Baroque garden built in Italian style offers magnificent views of Prague Castle and the Lesser Town churches. The garden also includes the magnificent Wallenstein Palace (today the seat of the Senate), built by Albrecht of Wallenstein, the second most powerful man in the Czech Kingdom after the King. A powerful military leader, a good strategist and a man who almost became the King of Bohemia and who wanted his palace to be equal in beauty and luxury to Prague Castle, which is why he had his palace built in close proximity to it.
Prague is the only place where you can encounter cubism in architecture! And even visit a cubistic café with an interior completely created in the cubistic style. And the best part - cubistic desserts! And great food in general! Wonderful for breakfast or brunch in the historic centre of Prague. My tip: go to the Grand Cafe Orient on the 1st floor! It's much quieter there than on the ground floor! The house at the Black Madonna is truly special! A pleasant experience!
One of the magical streets in the Old Town and House at the Black Star.
Beautiful day on Kampa island! In such a warm weather it is so pleasant to walk along the riverbank in Prague and breathe the humid air from the river. Kampa island together with the Devil's stream is part of my Lesser Town walk ;-)
As I promised, here is a wonderful café near Vojanovy sady - a park on the way from Malostranská metro station to Charles Bridge. Here you can admire the beautiful interior, enjoy delicious coffee, tea, hot chocolate, homemade lemonade or a glass of wine and many other goodies. Or buy handmade bracelets.
It's the time of year when it's so nice to just sit in a park and relax. One of the amazing places to do this is Vojanovy sady - a park on the road from Malostranská metro station to Charles Bridge. Moreover, there is a very nice cafe just a short walk away where you can enjoy delicious coffee, tea, hot chocolate, homemade lemonade or a glass of wine and many other goodies. For pictures of the Café see my next post! ;-)
Have you ever thought that you can go to a cave in Prague? 😉 To walk between the walls of the cave and the beautiful park with a pond and a fountain, to see the gazebo with vineyards below ... And all just a few minutes from Náměstí Míru (metro stop, tram)!
On the trail of the lilac in Prague!
Thanks for the great idea and challenge from Daphne Mark! Lilacs bloom here in April and May and have become one of the symbols of the end of WWII. The people of Prague enthusiastically welcomed the arrival of the then liberating Soviet troops with them.
Have you ever had breakfast at a medieval gothic well? 😀 Amazing experience! Beautiful interior! Great food at great prices! To drink homemade lemonades, fresh juices, fresh mint/ginger teas and lots more! Only if you're a lover of good coffee, go for that at Café Nezisk just down the street. ;-) Here they only have illy (which is one of the least quality coffees). But otherwise really perfect! Even the staff is very nice! 😉
Velké poděkování mým nejnovějším předním fanouškům! 💎 Mike OToole
One of my favorite cafés in Holešovice/Letná area 😊 Tiny but beautiful with the best coffee in the area! ;-)
Spring time in Prague 🤗 This happens only once a year!
Do you know this incredible place in Prague? ;-) Great for a night out. ;-) You can find here a pub, Italian restaurant, bar ... Live music every Wednesday and Saturday! More info in comments!
With my lovely clients :-)
I never thought to take pictures with my clients. Plus, when I started, digital photography was just beginning. It wasn't common to have a camera on you (we could only dream of having a camera on our cell phones back then). So I only have a few random photos from years past, mostly taken by my clients. But I have come to understand that we live in a digital era, where what is not recorded, seems not to exist 🙂 and so since the creation of my FB page I have started documenting, at least a few walks. Captured here are some very precious memories for me of a few of my wonderful clients over the years. I cherish every moment! ❤️
