✨ Rok 2024 v organickém zemědělství – Naše cesta na OWC 2024 na Tchaj-wanu ✨
Milí partneři,
Rok 2024 byl pro naši společnost AGRIWELL rokem dynamického růstu, plným nových zkušeností a mezinárodní spolupráce. Jedním z nejvýznamnějších momentů byla naše účast na Organic World Congress (#OWC2024), který letos hostil Tchaj-wan.
Tato událost byla nejen inspirativní, ale i motivující – ukázala, že organické zemědělství je globálním tématem, které si zaslouží naši plnou pozornost. Na závěr roku 2024 jsme vytvořili speciální videoklip, ve kterém sdílíme nejen atmosféru kongresu, ale také naše odhodlání a vizi pro budoucnost organického zemědělství. Je však zřejmé, že klíčem k jeho rozvoji je silná spolupráce mezi státem, zemědělci a odborníky z praxe.
👉 Naším cílem na rok 2025 je spojit síly s klíčovými partnery, včetně Ministerstva zemědělství ČR, a sdílet naše zkušenosti, projekty a nápady, které podpoří udržitelný rozvoj organického zemědělského sektoru v Česku. Věříme, že společně můžeme vybudovat silnou základnu pro organickou produkci a zvýšit povědomí o její důležitosti.

We Can’t Stop Sharing Insights from #OEYE2024!
Here are some keynotes from the two days:
The #OEYE2024 event gathered around 110 participants who networked and connected through an activity organized within the framework of the #BEINGorganicInEU project. The panel discussion «Who is who in sustainable food systems?» explored various approaches to sustainable farming, including organic, agroecology, biodynamic, and regenerative methods. It was noted that the differences between these approaches are minimal and lie in the details, emphasizing the importance of forming alliances and strengthening each other to face future challenges.
Parallel sessions on the first day covered topics such as access to land, biodistricts, gender in agriculture, and digitalization. Lectures on «Youth and access to land» and «Sustaining Communities: The potential of Biodistricts» highlighted issues related to land access and the impact of biodistricts on legislation. Lectures on «(Bio)diverse agriculture: bringing intersectionality and queerness to the land» and «Growing forward: Farming in the digital age» examined the role of feminism and queer theory in agriculture and discussed the opportunities and challenges of digitalization.
On the second day, during parallel sessions, the role of social media in promoting #organicfarming was discussed, along with open innovation approaches, the creation of a European organic youth network, the Italian Local Food Policies Network, Living Labs as innovation environments, the complexities of public food procurement, and decent working conditions for farmers.
The panel session «Growing green: Insights from organic entrepreneurs» featured entrepreneurs sharing their experiences in growing an organic business. Dr. Vandana Shiva’s keynote speech «From Earth Democracy over Rights to Nature: the role of the organic movement in ecological activism» inspired everyone, highlighting the importance of engaging youth in the organic movemen

🌱 Exciting Developments in EU Plant Reproductive Material Legislation! 🌿
We're thrilled to share some coming updates on the EU's legislative progress concerning plant reproductive material (PRM) like seeds, cuttings, trees, and more. Aimed at integrating numerous directives from as far back as the 1960s into a single regulation, this effort will harmonize practices across all member states and bring significant improvements, especially for organic and conservation varieties.
Key Changes to Note:
- Market Access: Enhanced access for organic and conservation varieties.
- End Users: Special considerations for PRM intended for amateur gardeners.
- Gene Banks and Networks: Provisions for material retained by gene banks.
- Farmer Exchanges: Facilitating PRM exchanges between farmers.
However, the proposal isn't perfect. It plans to extend the VSCU testing to additional crop types, potentially burdening organic breeders. Despite these challenges, discussions in the European Parliament’s AGRI and ENVI committees have led to promising amendments that support organic farming and preserve agrobiodiversity.
