Traditional Czech Christmas Meals🥂
✨🍪Christmas sweets (or vánoční cukroví). As soon as December comes, Czech homes fill the aroma of vanilla and cinnamon. It’s to make sure the tables are full of various Christmas cookies of all shapes and flavors on Christmas Eve.
✨🥖Christmas bread. It’s shaped to resemble swaddled Baby Jesus and it symbolises a new life and fertility and that’s why it simply had to be included on the Christmas dinner menu.
✨🐟Most Czechs cannot imagine Christmas without some fried carp and potato salad. It has been a traditional Christmas meal since medieval times.

St. Nicholas Day in the Czech Republic💫
A trio of Sv. Mikuláš, Čert, and Anděl come on the evening of Dec. 5 as part of a centuries-old folk tradition.
✨According to tradition, Sv. Mikuláš (St. Nicholas) rewards good children with treats, while the Čert (Devil) admonishes the bad ones with a lump of coal and a shake of the chains. The Anděl (Angel) keeps them company.
📍The eve of St. Nicholas is especially fun in Prague. Parents bring their children to the Old Town Square where you can witness the tradition roughly between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

💫Christmas markets (Vánoční trhy) are a key ingredient of the festive magic in the Czech Republic, and the Prague markets are the most impressive in the country.

People can find decorated Easter eggs including ones made from wood, other wooden decor, ceramics, spring plants, and tablecloths and blankets with floral motifs. 🍴There is also traditional food delicacies such as palačinky (pancakes), Czech sausages, roasted almonds, pirohy (stuffed dumplings), and traditional Czech pastries - trdelníky. 📌There are some Czech Easter traditions. 🥚Painted eggs. In the Czech Republic like in any other European country the most famous symbol of Easter is a painted egg. The decorations are varied. You can find eggs that are painted and carved, dyed in onion peel and other natural colours, etched, wired. ✨The whip. The custom of whipping girls and women with a handmade whip has been a Czech Easter tradition for several centuries. Boys and men used to whip girls with willow branches to help them stay healthy and young. 🐇Traditional dishes. The Easter season is linked to many traditional dishes: fish or thick soups on Good Friday (the day of fast), nádivka and mazanec on White Saturday, beránek a lamb cake on Easter Sunday. Easter Monday is full of egg dishes, as they symbolize rebirth.
