The first thing that comes to mind when you talk about Australia🇦🇺 is the uniqueness of the animal kingdom, and the second thing is the attempt of that animal kingdom to destroy you.
The number of endemics on this continent exceeds all acceptable values. This is where you can touch a koala, feed and pet a kangaroo🦘, take a photo with a quokka. And this is only if you want to communicate with "cute" animals. But you also have the opportunity to listen to the hideous scream of the Tasmanian devil, observe (preferably from a long distance) the crested sea crocodile🐊, and explore dangerous snakes🐍 and spiders🕷 if you wish. There's a lot here that's unusual. In Australia, parrots rather than pigeons fly in parks, and you can freely buy kangaroo or crocodile meat in the supermarket.
By the way, despite the fact that the continent is washed on all sides by the waters of the oceans, not everywhere you can swim. I was very amused by a sign on the beach near Darwin, which said not to swim at the beach from October to May because of dangerous jellyfish Irukanji, and from June to September - because of sea crocodiles.
But all in all, Australia is a very beautiful and friendly country and it's up to you to decide whether to be afraid of the dangers or enjoy a unique experience.

This is the time when the brightness of nature colors makes you feel like you're looking through a magic filter👀. Your photos will look stunning without the slightest interference!☀ My friends used to reproach me for overdoing it with Photoshop, because they couldn't believe that such colors and polarization of light were even possible in nature. And, of course, you have to be prepared that after such cool photos and cool vacation you might not have any friends left at all😂.

If you love the nature - be sure to go to Costa Rica 🇨🇷, you will not regret it. As I traveled through this beautiful country, I had the feeling that I was inside a large national park. The first few days my breakfast followed a rather strange scenario: I would come to breakfast, make an order and happily sit down on the outdoor terrace of the restaurant waiting for it. Suddenly some motley bird flew in, or I was attracted by the sounds coming from the animals that were frolicking in the crown of the nearby trees. And, naturally, it was no longer up to the food. My wife was yelling: "Run for the camera, I'll hold them off!!!" (I wonder how she was going to do that😂). And I ran with all my might to the hotel room for the camera. Somewhere around the third day, I realized that it was when I came armed with my camera equipment that the animals didn't want to come. So I did not understand whether they were mocking me, or the animals liked how I run and remain without food.
And this contact with nature happened everywhere. You could stop at a roadside cafe for coffee and find a flock of Ara parrots in such large numbers that you don't see in every zoo. Or, driving up to the hotel, you can not find a place to park, because a large family of iguanas basking in the sun. I'm not even talking about such a tourist attraction, like feeding crocodiles with a chicken on the rod. If you keep quiet and look carefully around - you will see a lot of things. And howler monkeys making frightening sounds, and turtles that lay eggs on the beach, and hummingbirds flitting around flowers and much, much more. Good luck in this beautiful place.

I wanted to make a photo report about sunny Italy 🇮🇹 and while selecting photos, I remembered a funny incident. One day my friends and I, having had a good walk through autumnal Venice, were discussing our impressions with a glass of Prosecco 🥂🍾and saw on TV📺 the news, which showed San Marco Square all flooded with water🏊. We were very surprised, because we had been there in the morning and there was nothing like that. Opinions were divided on what had happened. The women insisted that it had been sunny☀️ and it hadn't rained all day and it was probably just an old news report. The men did not care, but the women's gambling🎲 reached its absolute limit and soon things went too far - a second bottle of Prosecco🍾 was at stake, for which someone had to go🏃 to the store. And you can understand who had to do it from the words of my wife: "It doesn't matter who won... we'll all drink wine together anyway"😁

"I've been there!!! And it's totally different!!!" - how often do you exclaim such a thing when watching another Hollywood blockbuster? You'd be surprised, but the more you travel, the more often it happens. For example, what do most people know about Jordan? Chances are, you imagine majestic Petra with its Al Khazneh. And mentally follow Indiana Jones inside this beautiful landmark, hoping to see deep caves and mysterious bottomless expanses. But I hasten to disappoint you. Inside is just an empty, inconspicuous room. If you had been there, however, you would know that Petra is more than just the facade of Al Khazneh. What stands out is the magnificent narrow canyon that precedes its appearance. You can take a leisurely stroll through it, or you can ride a donkey or horse, looking at the cave paintings and the ancient aqueduct. In the depths of Petra, you'll see a Roman road with the remains of columns, a well-preserved amphitheater and a monastery. Travel, and you can make your discoveries before your ideas and visions are imposed on you.

It's not always a hotel that leaves a mark on the soul - it's a fancy hotel or a luxury hotel. At times, it can be a small, family-run hotel. For example, my wife and I often think back to one hotel we once stayed in.
It was a hotel on the Phangan Island in Thailand.
We found it by chance, just driving down the road and looking for a place to watch the sunset. The sunset on the hotel beach was amazing and I decided to ask if there were any rooms available. At the reception was, as it turned out later, the owner himself and he showed us his brainchild. And one of the rooms called "Bird Nest" made a lasting impression on my wife. It was obvious from the look on her face that we HAVE TO STAY HERE and she couldn't be deterred by my refusal, or the fact that the room might be booked by someone else😱. It was obvious that she was already mentally arranging our things around the room and trying on outfits for a future photo shoot. That was my verdict. Good thing the room turned out to be available for the right dates.
I asked the owner who was the designer of the room concept. His eyes lit up (at last someone appreciated his creation). He told us that he had nurtured the idea of an unusual room for several years and had come up with many original ideas, such as how to use the heat from the air-conditioner to heat water.
Years later a young couple approached me to organise a romantic trip to the islands of Thailand and I thought of the hotel. But it was with great sadness that I discovered that it was gone (land lease ran out) and our beautiful Bird Nest demolished😢 It was very sad, because if you had a good time in a place, you want to go back there again, or send people there so they would love the place too. The fate of this person is interesting, but unfortunately, there's no information.

How I went to Myanmar and my wife to Burma, or the secrets of a perfect holiday

One day I was faced with the choice of what country to "dilute" our next trip to Thailand. My wife wanted beautiful architecture and a bit of beach vacation, while I am interested in any new place where you can try something, somewhere to climb and it is desirable to admire something. My beloved argued that Burma is the ideal and the only right decision, because it is a beautiful pagoda and beautiful beaches where you can buy pearl beads (finally, justice will be done and the natives will get money and the colonizer - trinkets)
I, on the other hand, argued that we need to visit Myanmar urgently because this largely untouched tourist destination is changing rapidly and I can't miss seeing it like this before globalisation takes over.
Deciding to play a prank on my wife, I told her I would not be going to Burma. Because I already bought tickets to Myanmar. You should have seen her look😤 Without waiting for my wife to mutilate me, I threw her a link to Wikipedia, which says that Burma and Myanmar are one and the same country😊
The bloodshed was called off and anger was replaced by grace and packing of suitcases🥰
It must be said that in this country we both got what we wanted. We came to the conclusion that Myanmar is just a fantastic place, where we have gone more than once and where we are still drawn to. Because of the lack of mass tourism you get great service and genuine interest from the local people. At the same time, the country is very rich in interesting sights, authentic culture, miles of perfect sandy beaches and friendly people. All in all, it's a place you'll want to return to more than once.

One day, while travelling in Chile, I decided to visit the Atacama Desert. But I didn't intend to spend much time there. I just thought, "What's so interesting about a pile of sand? Even if it is the most famous." And it's famous for being the driest place on the planet. But it turns out that nature can always surprise you with its beauty, even in places you wouldn't expect. Sand dunes, moonscapes, geysers, salt lagoons and the animals that have chosen this place as their home.

MEXICO
Sorting through pictures from Mexico today and got a direct taste of the country. Tacos, guacamole, ceviche, margaritas overlooking the ocean and more. But Mexico is not only delicious, it's also insanely interesting. And, if most people associate it with all-inclusive hotels, trust me, this country has a lot to show you. Cenotes, pyramids, amusement parks, archaeological museums, jazz festivals and a very colorful celebration of the Day of the Dead. I would like to pay special attention to the last one. In cinematography, this holiday is very well portrayed in the James Bond film "007 SPECTRE". After the screening, you may get the impression that the holiday takes place in the capital city of Mexico City. And that's partly true. But still more soulful and atmospheric this celebration will be in Oaxaca. It is a small town in the center of which the spirit of colonial times is preserved.
Personal recommendation - for a full dive into the atmosphere of the feast, before you go watch the Disney cartoon . It seemed to me that the creators of this cartoon loved this place with all their heart and wanted to convey that love to you. If you decide to visit Oaxaca on Day of the Dead after this, take at least two or three days to do so. During the day you can wander the streets and see the ancient churches, but in the evening the extravaganza of celebrations begins. The streets fill with crowds of colorful and thematically dressed people, partying, dancing, and singing. You can easily join in on the fun. You just need to paint your face for carnival in any of the improvised make-up points, which will be many throughout the old town, and then join the carnival. And you will be in a good mood. And if even that is not enough - you can visit the rock concert, which takes place directly in the cemetery.
And when you fully enjoy the immersion in the vibrant Mexican culture, I advise to move to the ocean and relax a little to recuperate. Fortunately the Pacific Ocean is not far away.
However, keep in mind that every year this holiday is becoming more and more popular and planning your trip, and more importantly, booking a hotel and flight should be done as early as possible.

When travelling around the world, we want to have a vivid experience and some comfort, but sometimes the hotel itself can provide an unforgettable experience. That's why I would like to start a section on "unusual hotels".
If I am in a hurry and the location of a hotel really appeals to me, I choose chain hotels with predictable service and quality rooms. But if I find something out of the ordinary, I can't resist it even if it exceeds my travel budget.

Ground rule.
We always look forward to a long-awaited holiday and get very upset if something goes wrong. So here's my first and foremost piece of advice. Think about what really allows you to relax, energise and get inspired to do new things? But be honest. Don't give in to fashion trends, other people's expectations and repeat someone else's exploits, like climbing Everest. Choose only what you are prepared to spend your time, money and sometimes your health (that's me talking about climbing Everest). After all, rest is the cure for worries and the daily grind. And for everyone, this cure is individual. There is no "one size fits all" situation when we are talking about traveling and If you're so tired that you're ready to sleep the night away, then conquering uncharted paths just doesn't make sense. But if you want to change your lifestyle, because of its monotony, then perhaps a holiday in an all-inclusive hotel will not be for you 😁 Therefore, be honest with yourself about what you're going to do and start planning your perfect trip with that in mind.
If you are inexperienced or simply don't have the time to plan, you can ask a "travel planner" (like me, for example) to do it for you.
By the way, this service costs much less than you could lose by not planning properly.
After that, all you have to do is pack your bags and enjoy your holiday.

Recently my clients from Europe and the United States have been asking me more and more questions about vacations. But the word "vacation" sounds blasphemous to Ukrainian citizens now, and I find it hard to imagine how one can relax even far from home when all sources of information are overflowing with articles about the horrors of war.
However, I thought that my clients who are not from Ukraine see it differently, the war is somewhere far away from them. For them, the vacation remained a vacation. So I decided to write small articles about useful life hacks in travel and share my experiences, which may be useful to someone in the future. I really hope that it will make life easier for travelers and help to navigate in our diverse world. If my experience will be useful to someone, I will be very happy.
