A beautiful four days in Mikulov and there would still be a lot to discover. I feel like it's the town with the highest concentration of beautiful cafes and restaurants per capita. But that's just a nice bonus. The town is dominated by a beautiful chateau, the pilgrimage site of Svatý Kopeček, the well-restored synagogue (in the past Jews made up 42% of the population), the interesting architecture of the Závodný Gallery and much more. And last but not least, it is also a town of excellent wine, of course.

As it happens, as a local, I don't have many pictures of Prague. But thanks to Hayley, a visitor from North Carolina, I did get a few. In addition to posing, we also enjoyed a visit to the Strahov Picture Gallery. Yes, Strahov isn't just the beautiful library, but also the collection of art from the 14th to the 20th century. The unique collection of liturgical objects is also worthy of note.

During the covid times I decided to go back to school and started studying art therapy in České Budějovice. I always liked the city, but during those three years I absolutely fell in love with it. Beautiful at any time of the year. Cozy cafes, great brewery, tempting pastry shops, inspiring art galleries and picturesque streets with the arcades. A peaceful atmosphere. On the way to the popular Český Krumlov.

Patrik Hábl and his installation in the former Jesuit church. Fascinating work with the space, its architecture and the history of the church. The visitor can move freely around the church and discover other works by the artist and view the hanging canvases from different angles. Very powerful and speaks to everyone regardless of faith, age or experience with art. Tested yesterday on a family from the USA. They were spellbound.

Plzen (Pilsen) is known for a famous Pilsner Urquell beer. It's one hour away from Prague and there is more to see and visit besides the brewery.

Krásný Dvůr, the baroque mansion from 1724 with the landscape park from 1793 with small buildings such as Pan's Temple, Gloriette, Lusthaus or Neo-Gothic Temple.

Litomyšl chateau, located two hrs away from Prague, was built in Italian Renaissance style in 1581. The commented tour includes the theatre from the 18th c. with well preserved classical decorations. Reserve one full day for exploring Litomyšl :-)

Enjoying Smetana’s Litomyšl festival. One of the most famous Czech composers Bedřich Smetana was born in Litomyšl and he is celebrated every summer with a big music festival. Dating from 1949, it is the second oldest music festival in Czech Republic.

Wallenstein Garden was built together with the Palace for a supreme commander of the Imperial Army who fought on the Catholic side during Thirty Years' War (1618-1648). It was built on the spot of 23 houses, three gardens and one factory. Wallenstein traveled the Europe and employed Italian artists to built the garden. He was accused of being a betrayer and assassinated. His property was confiscated. tours
