A Finnish couple Marke and Heikki renovated a house from the 1860s in the historical Berchtesgaden in Bavaria to holiday apartments. Welcome to Burmesterhaus!

They also provide you with tips about what to do on your holiday and organize different seasonal tours. A gem in the middle of the German Alps

Partakorppikotka - the Bearded Vulture - Bartgeier

The Bearded Vulture is Europe's most endangered vulture species. The specie became extinct in the Alps during the 19th century. Since 1986 bearded vultures have been released in the Alps as part of an international project. From our newspaper we could read that Helsinki zoo delivers the next zoo-hatched birds into the Nationalpark of Berchtesgaden.

The Alpine population is entirely derived from zoo-hatched birds, the first of which had their own offspring in the wild in the 1990s. Today, more than 300 bearded vultures already glide in the Alps.
