🌟 The ethnic group of the Khmu people celebrate on December 20. And sure, you may have guessed it, we’re glad to join their party.

We can’t reveal what it’s going to be in all detail yet, but one thing is for sure: a third Mekong boutique ship will see the light of day in 2025 and family likeness will be a given.

As the developer of the very first river cruises on the Northern Mekong between Laos and Thailand and the market leader for this region since 2005, we are excited to announce that we’re about to add another highlight to our fleet of boutique ships. Construction work on our new vessel starts in late 2023, just in time for the 20th anniversary of our Mekong portfolio, providing the Mekong Sun and the Mekong Pearl with a sister vessel.

Our new boutique ship features 12 spacious cabins, in fact, the roomiest you'll find on any ship travelling the Northern Mekong, some equipped with French balconies and panoramic windows, some with private balconies. The vessel revisits the style and charm of her authentic sister ships but provides an even more exclusive standard with more generously equipped cabins, further conveniences, and more elegant public areas. We’re just back from Dushanbe, and we’re enchanted. 💙

The baffling contrast between the surrounding desert-scapes and the verdant oasis that is Tajikistan’s capital had us captivated. The rarely visited city amid an unexplored country surprises with airy parks and pretty fountains. Its architectural treasures alone are worth more than just one visit, like the Kohi Nawruz Palace, where every room is meticulously hand-crafted with inlays of gemstones and surfaces made of pure gold.

Dushanbe is a capital people don’t know much about yet—but we’ll ensure that everybody understands that it’s a city to be seen.

Oh, and we’re so proud we’ve finally mastered the pronunciation of the place. It should sound like a question, like: Do sham bah? Well, we can say we definitely do!
