Today's video is a trim of the opening speech of Jean-Pierre Halkin, Head of Interreg and Cross-Border Cooperation and Internal Borders Unit at DG REGIO.
Jean-Pierre's words give us a vivid picture of the great impact Interreg has in creating cohesion among the European Union Members and Partners, especially in border areas.
Looking forward in his speech, the contribution of the younger generation becomes crucial to make sure that Interreg continues to be a meaningful resource for the present and future of European citizens.

Martin Guillermo Ramírez, secretary general of the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR), is a passionate advocate of cross-border cooperation. In this video, he shares his view of the dynamics of Border Regions and valuable structures such as Interreg.
As he points out, IVY volunteers provide unique knowledge and fresh perspectives to Interreg.
