At we care about your Mental Health!
That’s why we want to talk about practicing Self-Care During Election days 🌟🙏🏼
Here are some tips that can help you navigate the excitement and stress of election season in order to take care of your mental health!
🌟Balance Information Input
While it’s important to stay informed, consider turning off push notifications for breaking news updates. Occasionally visit non-partisan news sources to stay informed when you choose, but allow yourself to take a break from the news when you need to.
🌟Undo(om) Doomscrolling
Create boundaries with your electronics and social media by keeping your phone away from your sleep area and silencing your phone when with your friends.
🌟Maintain Healthy Habits
Even if you stay up all night for election night, it is important to be mindful of what your body needs to recover and re-energize the days after.
🌟Recalibrate
Take walks, journal or find other ways to collect and process your thoughts to clear your mind. Reach out for support if overwhelmed and need help coping with anxieties.
🌟Get Connected
It helps to talk about your worries and to connect to groups and people who share your values. This might mean joining organizations outside of campus as well- We can help with that!
🙏🏼Practice kindness and compassion towards others even if they have differing opinions🙏🏼
