I’ve just recently learned that the main reason holding people back from eating less meat is their imagination. They simply don’t have positive experience with eating delicious meatless dishes and: they lack the imagine what an alternative meal looks like.
This phenomenon occurs similarly when discussing sustainable travel. Stereotypes such as boring, expensive, uncomfortable are widely spread. Let’s create new visions of a comfortable way of traveling sustainably. Share your story of your last sustainable trip and inspire others.

The sun is coming out, the days are getting hotter - and several places from shopping malls to cafés to universities have already started running their air conditioning. But - did you know that global usage of air conditioning causes 4 % of CO2 emissions? At the same time, a lot of people suffer from heat and have no access to cooling mechanisms. How can we balance that out? The easiest measure is not running the air conditioning when it’s not needed. Next time you are on a trip, double check if you have turned off the AC before leaving the room and consider if you can probably cool down the room to a slightly higher temperature that is still comfortable for you!

On Wednesday we had the priviledge to work together with students in Saxony who are becoming cooks or hotel managers. Learning about the greenhouse effect and designing their own future accommodation... it was a whole day full of inspiration and exchange.

Traveling with a dog made me realize how useful ramps are. Not only for people in a wheelchair, but also for a dachshund which is not allowed to take stairs, someone arriving by bike, an artist transporting his bass or parents with a stroller. Inclusive travel has been neglected for decades and it is definitely time to change that. Be the changemaker you can be: next time you travel talk to locals, fellow guests and hotel staff and point out what can be improved for a more inclusive experience for everyone!
