Westerners meet the nomadic pastoral tribe of Tanzania, The Datoga. Their acceptance of people from different cultures allowing them to interact with them in their daily life basis, get inside their traditionally built houses and attend their ceremonial dances is simply an unforgettable experience. They are unbelievably generous and uniquely friendly. It’s a privilege for me working with these lovely people

Actually I look better than I thought I would be, with a baboon fur on my head 😅 (to be continued)
Journey into Hadzabe lands (May be visually disturbing content for some ⚠️)
I was so blessed to visit the Hadzabe people (or Hadza), in their homeland. “The Hadzabe ppl are an indigenous ethnic group living around Lake Eyasi, southern part of the Ngorongoro, Tanzania. There are approximately just 1000 Hadzabe ppl living in Tanzania, however only around 300 Hadza still survive exclusively based on the traditional means of hunting & foraging. They hunt using bows & arrows, typically hunting primates around.”
*
When I reached Lake Eyasi after 2,5hrs drive from Arusha to Karatu and 1,5hrs motorcycle ride from Karatu to Lake Eyasi; I managed to find a local guide and together we rode deep inside Hadzabe lands. After 1hr of riding and another 1hr of walking (we left the motorcycle where it couldn’t continue anymore due to very rough terrain) in the bush we finally made to our final destination.
*
The Village (Boma) I visited called Qang’dend and the head of the Boma, he was called Nona. He showed me great hospitality and he was kind enough to let me live & lodge with his ppl for couple of days and nights.
*
I spent my days doing whatever Hadza ppl are doing in their daily lives; that includes hunting in the mornings, preparing bows & arrows before noons, collecting honey and fruits in the afternoons and gathering fire wood in the evenings... I worked alongside with them, we ate game meat and drank “Dadi” (local alcohol based on maize & wheat flour

Genetically – like the Bushmen of southern Africa – they are one of the 'oldest' lineages of humankind. They speak a click language that is unrelated to any other language on earth. Over the past 50 years, however, the tribe has lost 90% of its land. Until the 1950s all Hadza survived by hunting and gathering.

Hunting with the Hadza is a one of kind experience that will be one of the highlights of your trip.
Visiting with the Hadzabe tribe in Tanzania is the ideal way for you to connect with a culture whose traditions are almost reverent in their simplicity.
Not only will you see the beautiful scenery around Lake Eyasi, but you’ll also learn how to forage for fruit and berries, how to use a bow and arrow, and how to cook over an open fire. Spending a day with this tribe is an experience you’ll never forget.

They grow no food, raise no livestock, and live without rules or calendars. They are living a hunter-gatherer existence that is little changed from 10,000 years ago. What do they know that we've forgotten?

Did you know of the would last for more than a year???
Before a boy could announce his intention to marry, he had to prove to the elders of the village that he was already a man by killing an Elephant or Lion which roamed the plain with a spear single handed.
Upon proving his manhood, the boy would be given a Bull by his father which was then killed and shared by his male friends and relatives.
The boy would smear himself over with the dung from the of the Bull, his hair was cut by one of his adult male friend leaving a at the back where a short string would be tied.
Then he was considered to have attained marriage age and with permission of the elders he could begin to wear
The boys father would then instruct him to look for a girl to marry. The boy would make his choice and instruct the father to pay

He would not sleep with his bride that night. The following morning, the boy's mother would take of cooking butter to the door of the bride's apartment and call her. She would then put a necklace and a price of grass on the bride and smear the butter allover her except the legs. She would then remove all the girl's ornaments and dress her like a married woman.
After that, the bride and three other girls would go and cut a load of firewood each to give to the boy's mother.
That same night, the boy would sleep with his wife and they would continue to do so until a child was born.
After that, the husband would build a separate hut for that particular wife.
The girl was taken through the large Kraal entrance and led to her own house.
