International School Neustadt A full-day school, fostering each child's talents and passions from Cambridge Primary to A Level

With around 80 students from over 16 nations, ISN offers a caring family atmosphere both for expatriates and local families. Expatriate families enjoy the social network at ISN which eases integration into a new location, while local German parents benefit from the innovative educational program and English language instruction. ISN offers the Cambridge Primary and IGCSE (International General Cer

tificate of Secondary Education) programs, and is an accredited examination center for Cambridge International Examinations, offering the full range of English examinations. ISN's campuses include a number of adjacent vineyard villas and the school offers a full day program from 8am until 5pm. While the main language of instruction is English, German classes are also taught daily to all students from beginner to native-speaker level. Before- and after-school adult supervision is available each day to students from kindergarten up to grade 5. ISN also provides a wide range of after-school activities including music, drama, art and sports. The school is owned and managed by the famous Swiss education provider, SBW Haus des Lernens, which has over 40 years of experience in the field of private education, currently managing more than 10 schools throughout Switzerland and Germany. Some of the innovative approaches developed by SBW and implemented at ISN include personalized student coaching, autonomous learning and the development of learning skills.

Our garden is coming to life! 🌿

Our Year 4 and 5 learning partners are exploring how plants benefit the Earth as part of their Science unit on plant growth and pollination. Yesterday they visited the local Dehner Garden Center, where they attended a presentation on proper plant care and growing techniques. 🌱✨ A big thank you to the Dehner Garden Center for this wonderful and informative session!

Not only did they gain valuable knowledge, but they also selected and purchased plants to kickstart an exciting collaborative project with the Secondary Creativa group! We can’t wait to see our garden flourish! 🍓🥕🥒

Our esteemed speaker, Dr. Alexis Kalogeropoulos, a distinguished researcher in particle physics and next-generation silicon-based detectors, unraveled the mysteries of the universe - from the vastness of the cosmos to the tiniest subatomic particles. 🪐🔎

💡 Did you know CERN is the birthplace of the World Wide Web? Or that it is the coldest place in the universe? ❄️💻 Our students were fascinated by these mind-blowing insights and the sheer scale of scientific innovation shaping our future!

Attention, photography lovers! 📷

An extraordinary art event is taking place at our neighbors, Heim'sche Privat-Sektkellerei GmbH, starting this Friday! The exhibition, titled "Transformation Landscape – Photography Worldwide," showcases the ever-changing nature of landscapes in all their diversity - from subtle, almost imperceptible shifts to dramatic transformations.

Ten renowned photographers have captured these fascinating processes, taking you on a visual journey around the globe. The exhibition features images from the Netherlands, Spain, South America, California, Iceland, Tokyo, Mumbai, Namibia, Cairo, and even from our local surroundings.

Be part of the grand opening on Friday, February 28, at 6 PM! After that, the exhibition will be open daily until March 10, from 10 AM to 6 PM.

🔬 A Closer Look: Year 2 Explores the Microscopic World! 🔬

Our Year 2 learning partners were excited to explore the microscopic world and make their own onion skin slides to look at plant cells up close! Under the skilled guidance of microscope experts Claudia (SY) and Marie (Year 8), and with great support from Nicolas and Tinus (Year 8) and Alijah (Year 6), the children were really excited as a whole new world came into focus. Science has never looked cooler!

Our young scientists had much fun turning red cabbage into an astonishing pH indicator and testing different substances to uncover amazing color changes! 🚀🔬

With the fantastic Dahliya from SY leading the way and great support from Luis (Year 8) and Tobin (Year 9), the children were amazed of how science can transform everyday liquids into a rainbow of discoveries. 🌟 Who knew cabbage could be this cool? 😃

Yesterday, our Year 4 and 5 learning partners dove into the fascinating world of science with a strawberry DNA extraction experiment in the lab! They were amazed at how a simple process could unveil the hidden secrets of DNA! ✨

🚀🍦 Science + Ice Cream = The Sweetest Experiment!

Our Early Years, Reception, and Year 1 learning partners had so much fun making ice cream while discovering the cool science behind it! Led by our superstar Aviana from SY - with awesome help from Andrew in Year 7 - the kids were amazed at how a little ice, salt, and shaking turned into a delicious treat. Science has never been sweeter!

Our Year 1 learning partners have been busy exploring the World of Work as part of their Global Perspectives Unit. They’ve learned about different types of jobs - and also got to experience some up close! After their visits to the fire station and a hair salon, they headed to Kardiopraxis Neustadt (https://kardiologie-nw.de/), where Pierre - a valued member of our ISN family - showed them how the heart works and what he does as a doctor.

The kids took away so much from these visits! A huge thank you to Pierre, David, and the entire team at Kardiopraxis Neustadt for the warm welcome and the great learning experience. 🙌

Yesterday was the third PE lesson focusing on field hockey, and some of our Learning Partners are really developing their core skill levels!
