Step 1 for your business mind:
The difference between “have to” and “WANT TO”
The following few lines may have a huge impact on you. Although it seems almost the same, the following change in perception is a main key to a happy and successful life.
It is as simple as that: when you hear you the words “have to…” what is your feeling? Is it “oh, that is nice”…?
… or do you feel some kind of pressure, because it doesn’t matter if you have better things to do, you just “have to” do it? In this case the decision is forced on you!
When you “have to” do things, your mind and body have a natural reaction. Because of the forced action, they produce the so-called stress hormones - manly adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisol. The effect is, that empathy and cognitive intelligence are reduced. The feeling of pain is enhanced.
The other way around, if you “WANT TO” do things, your mind and body produce hormones, too – the so-called happiness hormones. These are mainly serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin. The effect here is, that motivation, empathy and harmony are increased. In this case you make free choice and the decision is yours.
Decide yourself, what you like better!
So maybe you ask yourself now – “but wait – there are simply some things I really “have to” do, otherwise…” something will happen.
The answer is simple – “NO, YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING” – but you will bear the consequences of your acts.
So next time decide for yourself: Do you “have to” do this or that? – If you don’t like, you don’t “have to”. You just will face the consequences. So maybe you “WANT TO” avoid these consequences? Then it’s your choice, that you “WANT TO” do this thing instead of “have to” do it.
You think this is all the same? IT IS NOT!
Whereas “have to” is forced - “WANT TO” is free choice. “WANT To” try it and control your thinking? You will be astonished at the short time results after only a few weeks of practicing.
If you like this or don’t – please feel free to share your comments.
