There were a lot of big projects in 2023 that kept us pretty busy and relatively away from social media … but we are still here and gearing up for an incredible 2024. Here are a few small updates:

1) Both houses are up and running and ready for your booking.
2) The farmhouse has a new sauna and come spring a GIGANTIC garden will be ready to enjoy with family and friends (… plus a pretty stunning and unique view of the mountains.) it’s just missing grass at the moment 😋.
3) We added some color to our cooking class kitchen with hand made tiles from … and think it might have been our favorite project of 2024 😋we love the way it looks and can’t wait to have guests come cook.
4) speaking of cooking, classes are open for booking - we offer classes starting Mid May - mid October. And then we will have Christmas Market Cooking classes the first 20 days in December… don’t hesitate to book your place today.
5) finally, although we thought we might slow down on projects … there is most likely a new specific cooking class kitchen in the works … let’s see what we get up to this year!

Adventure Bavaria started in the summer of 2017 when Backroads, a US based Active Travel Company, asked Anna to share with their guests her local knowledge of the area in the form of a cultural presentation including dirndls, lederhosen and beer! From this Anna started her 'Cultural Stammtisch' where she shares anecdotes about Bavaria. Guests can see first hand the traditional Bavarian clothing and get a chance to ask honest questions with honest Bavarian answers.

During Anna's cultural presentations she often described the bucolic scenery of Bavaria, her experiences hiking and swimming in the alpine region, or enjoying Brotzeit at a traditional mountain hut. Of course these are experiences from her childhood but they are also deeply rooted in Bavarian tradition. The idea began to grow, why not give visitors the chance to see the true, local Bavaria, the one that Anna grew up in and the one Anna often describes to her guests during her cultural Stammtisch.

In January 2019 Anna and Tyler found their dream Bavarian farm house and with that the dream continued. The 150-year old farm house is located in Oberaudorf right on the border between Bavaria & Tirol and offers front row seats to the Bavarian and Tyrolean alps. The house is a great way to look back in time but still enjoy modern amenities. Since February 2019 it is ready for guests to stay sleeping up to 14 guests and offering cozy vibes or rather #gaudevibes. Anna and Tyler live in the newly renovated barn attached to the house and are there to provide tips or share a local beer with guests if they so choose.

In April of 2019 they rolled out a few active and cultural adventures for their guests to book as well. Some of this include hiking in the Bavarian alps, swimming & gumpen jumping in mountain lakes and streams, SUPing down the ALZ and of course Anna’s incredible schnitzel cooking lessons to name a few.
