Did you know the Empire State Building was once designed to have a docking station for airships? 🏙️✈️

Back in the 1930s, airships were seen as the future of travel, and the plan was to let them dock right at the pinnacle of the world’s tallest building at the time. The 102nd floor was even designed with a gangplank for passengers!

However, high winds made it impossible, and the idea was abandoned. Still, it’s fun to imagine stepping off an airship and straight into Manhattan! 🌆

A visit to Budapest isn’t complete without a quick trip to Fisherman’s Bastion.

Found up on the Buda half of the Hungarian capital, Fisherman’s Bastion is a short terrace on Castle Hill. Taking no more than five minutes to walk from one side to the other, you’ll find yourself spending much more time there thanks to the unforgettable views.

The present day lookout towers and decorative fortification were, in fact, built in the 19th century to serve as a view point for the best panoramic views in Budapest.

Needless to say, there used to be real castle walls back in the day, but the present day structure has never served as an actual fortification in Buda.

Who else is a sucker for some great views?🙋🏽

Fun fact: Rembrandt’s wife, Saskia, is even buried here.

Plus, did you know the church has survived eight centuries of floods, fires, and all of Amsterdam’s wild history? Now that’s one tough landmark! 💪
