Easter walk along the Katharinenufer right by the picturesque Moselle river. The name Katharinenufer refers to the Dominican monastery of St. Katharina, which is located nearby. The monastery was moved from the to the banks of the Moselle in 1288, when Ordulph of Ören gave this area to the nuns. The Katharinenufer is called like this since 1883; from 1862, however, it already bore the name Katharinenquai. Historically, the street was also known as Moselquai. ______________________________________________________________ , a classizist-style art nouveau villa built in the years 1909-12, can be seen in the background. ______________________________________________________________

Big day for one of us and all of us. Today our dear friend Samuel obtained his PhD at the theological college in . This picture shows Samuel holding his lectio in the assembly hall of the theological college in the presence of Stephan Ackermann, who has been the bishop of the diocese of Trier since 2009. The former college became the theological faculty of the , which was founded in 1473. We very much enjoyed the wonderful production by homecomer Heinz Lukas-Kindermann (former intendant, 1995-2004) in cooperation with Heinz Hauser (stage designer), Victor Puhl (music director), and a brilliant opera ensemble.
