The world-famous musician, Sting, is giving a concert on Sunday, 31st July 2016 on the Wiesbaden Bowling Green.

Street Festival Taunusstraßefest is this weekend! Live music, food, wine and beer booths and activities for kids! Started in 2003 as a marketing campaign for the local merchants, it has since earned a great reputation and is considered an insiders’ tip among the festivals in Wiesbaden. Every year the red carpet is rolled out over 300 metres to allow visitors to walk from booth to booth. The tradespeople on Taunusstraße present their varied produce in white tents chatting to the guests and offering refreshments. Friday from 7 p.m. - Sat and Sun from 11:30 a.m. Hope to see you down there!

Woo hoo! The 2015 Rheingau weinfest is here! Nice. Location is the marktplatz - main markt square. It starts this Friday and runs until the following Sunday. Over 110 wineries- it is often called the "longest winebar in the world"! Has at least 5 stages and different music playing from about noon until 10 every night and later on weekends. No entry fee...and lots of food booths (my favorite is the spiesebraten - a grilled pork sandwich slathered in carmelized onions- oh my!)

Hours:
Friday and Saturday 11:00 bis 24:00 Uhr
Sunday to Thursday 11:00 bis 23:00 Uhr

On the weekend you might want to come a little early in the afternoon as a lot of the tables will be taken by 5-6 p.m. - but you can always make new friends and join where you find space. Looking forward to seeing you down there.

One of the best streetfests of the year - featuring live music, shows and entertainment, as well as lots of food booths!

The 38th annual Wilhelmstrassenfest (Theatriumfestival) takes place on Friday and Saturday, 12 and 13 June 2015, once again along the "Rue" and in the Bowling Green in front of the Kurhaus, Wiesbaden, the Warmer Damm and in the Burgstrasse with music, show and culinary delights the 38th Theatrium is celebrated.

Over two days, the fest provides colorful and quirky street performers, music bands of different styles, dance schools with their performances, 140 stalls of arts and crafts and of course the 120 food stands provide culinary offerings for a good time. A total of 28 - mostly local acts - offer the best entertainment on five stages. The stage program is supplemented by 60 street performers, including jugglers, stilt walkers and marching bands.

Something new this year: On Burgstrasse local restaurants and bars will be represented, such as Lumen * Restaurant - Café - Bar in Wiesbaden, Spital, Gestüt Renz, manoamano and The Curry Cartel. Hope to see you there.

SAVE THE DATE: Kranzplatzfest is next week from Wednesday to Sunday, 13 to 17 May. It takes place next to the Kochbrunnen (small park in front of Spital resturant)

Live music, food booths and local artists and vendors. Hours are Wed (1700-2200), Thur (1100-2200), Fri-Sat (1400-2200) and Sunday (1100-2200.)

Wiesbaden spring festival on the Elsasser Platz-- is this weekend-- Fri-Monday. Hours on Fri, Sat and Monday from Noon-11 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 11. The fair style festival has rides and food stalls...

One of the best events of the year starts today! The Wiesbaden Christmas Market runs from November 26 till December 23, 2014. Time for glühwein (mulled wine), kartoffel puffer with apfelmuss(potato cakes with applesauce) and zwiebel-braten (pulled pork with carmelized onion) sandwiches– (I eat those at ALL fest events ;-) )

Looking forward to seeing you down there.

Wiesbaden’s Christmas market will be opened from 25th November to 23rd December 2014 on the Schlossplatz between the Rathaus and Stadtschloss.

I'm afraid there will be no Halloween Pub Crawl this year. Too much happening at the moment, sorry! ;-(

If you are looking to do your own impromptu pub crawl I would suggest:

Scotch N Soda – Goldgasse 9 -- drink specials
The Irish Pub - Michelsberg 15 -- live music and drink specials
Murphy’s Irish Pub - Goldgasse 17-19 -- live music and drink specials
Your Sports Bar – Wilhelmstraße 38 -- always has a big party, and some crazy stuff happening in and on the bar.

Have fun and try to stay out of trouble!

This saturday (Oct 4) there will be an open house and tour at the Market Church in Wiesbaden - as I mention on my tour-- they do this monthly, led by a volunteer. Note: It will be in German, but I will be there, and will bring my two translators, Henry and Eliza. If anyone would like to join I will be there at 12 p.m.!

The British band UB 40 will be performing TONIGHT at the free open air concert at the Dern’sche Gelände in Wiesbaden as part of the City Festival. Concert starts at 8 p.m. Hope to see you down there!

Wow - what a fantastic review. I'm really glad the Peterson family had such a good experience and wrote such nice comments. It was a great night with a wonderful family- I could do those tours every night.

On top of that, with THIS review the Tour HAS MOVED UP TO THE #1 activity on TripAdvisor for Wiesbaden! Woo-hoo! That is awesome. Whoa! We have had a big month (5 tours so far) and some kind of synergy is happening on TripAdvisor - we are now the #2 activity in Wiesbaden on TripAdvisor! Woo-hoo! It would be awesome to take that #1 slot...perhaps with just a few more good reviews? (Hint, hint) ;-)

What a great group from the Humboldtschule in Wiesbaden last saturday! 20 kids from Henry's class and 20 parents! And thanks to Der Andechser im Ratskeller for hosting us at the end. The weather cooperated and a good time was had by all!
