The MacArtney Underwater Technology culture dates back to our founding in 1978 and continues to thrive through the contributions of both new and long-standing colleagues around the world.

It's all about how we collaborate and connect, what we do, and what we value. The more we know and understand one another, the more effectively we work together. The social side of our work has always been a key part of who we are.

On that note, teams from Norway and HQ – young and old – recently laced up their running shoes and donned orange T-shirts to participate in Energistafetten and Vestkystløbet, respectively.

Learning never exhausts the mind 🧠

This quote by Leonardo da Vinci felt especially fitting as we welcomed Shelby Watson and Donet Thomas from MacArtney Canada to our HQ fibre optics workshop.

Over 14 days of intensive, hands-on training, they explored the full MacArtney fibre optic connectivity range, gaining practical experience with connector procedures, fibre handling, and the technology behind our systems. The programme concluded with a theoretical test.

"It's been such a good experience and an incredible opportunity," Shelby says. "We work with, among other things, multiplexers back in Canada, and it is great to get hands-on with the fibre optic technology involved."

Donet agrees: "Understanding the procedures for different connectors and the careful handling required for fibre optics is extremely beneficial for us."

With their new certification, Shelby and Donet are now equipped to take on a broader range of tasks, strengthening our global capability in subsea connectivity.

Shelby shares, "I have been in tech for seven years, and MacArtney is the best company I have worked with. Everyone is helpful and takes the time to explain the details and share their knowledge - both here and in Canada!" 👌

🥳 Udlært industritekniker hos MacArtney Hydraulics A/S

Vi har haft den store glæde at fejre, at Simon d 8/2 var færdigudlært som industritekniker.

🍔 Dagen blev markeret med en hyggelig frokost hvor Simon fik æren af at vælge menuen. Hans valg faldt på bøfsandwich, hvilket viste sig at være et populært valg blandt kollegaerne.

Vi fik fejret Simon og er glade for at han fortsætter med at arbejde her hos Macartney Hydraulics A/S

The day featured a cosy lunch, and Simon had the honour of choosing the menu.

🥳 10-års jubilæum på Macartney Hydraulics A/S

I sidste uge fejrede vi at Michael Jensen, i daglig tale kaldet Vuk, havde 10-års jubilæum.

Vuk er et tilnavn, som kommer fra en gammel dansk film hvor Vuk fikser alt. Sådan er Michael nemlig også hos os.

Det er blevet til 10 år flere forskellige steder rundt i produktionen og nu i rollen som PTA-medarbejder.

🍔 Vi markerede Michaels jubilæum ved fælles frokost med foodtruck: lækre burgere og pommes frites.

🥳 10-Year Anniversary at Macartney Hydraulics A/S

Last week, we celebrated Michael Jensen, commonly known as Vuk, on his 10th anniversary.

Vuk is a nickname from an old Danish film in which Vuk fixes everything. That's precisely how Michael is with us.

Over the past 10 years, Michael has worked in various areas of production and is now a PTA employee.

🍔 We marked Michael's anniversary with a lunch featuring a food truck serving delicious burgers and fries.

👏 Congratulations Simon!

Simon is one of our five industrial technician apprentices.

He has just completed his final exam, which consists of two individual tests, one theory test, and one group project. For the group project, the team created an impressive scaled-down floating offshore wind turbine.

🎯 Simon achieved an overall grade of 12, which is outstanding!

Fortunately, Simon will continue working with us after he completes his apprenticeship in January.

Han har været til den afsluttende fagprøve, som består af 2 individuelle prøver, 1 teoriprøve samt én gruppeopgave. I gruppeopgaven lavede de en imponerende, flydende havvindmølle, skaleret ned.

Simon endte med en samlet karakter på 12 og hold da op hvor er det flot!

Når Simon er færdigudlært, i januar, fortsætter han heldigvis hos os.

Celebrating a 40th Anniversary at Macartney Hydraulics A/S 🎉

Today marks a very special milestone. On December 10, 1984, at the age of 22, Arne Overby began his journey at what was then called Klinkby Maskinfabrik. Since then, he has been an invaluable part of our team.

Arne started his career at the CNC lathe, moved on to the welding department, and eventually became a permanent member of the assembly department. His knowledge and experience make him our go-to person when work-related questions arise. Often, you hear colleagues say: "Just ask Arne."

Arne has worked at the same place for 40 years – an achievement that can feel surreal but which he also describes as very satisfying. "Otherwise, I wouldn't be here," he says with a smile.

To new colleagues, Arne has simple but wise advice: Show up to work with a positive attitude.

We are incredibly proud to have Arne on our team and greatly appreciate him as a colleague.

Fejring af et 40-års jubilæum hos Macartney Hydraulics A/S 🎉

I dag markerer vi en helt særlig milepæl. Den 10. december 1984 begyndte Arne Overby sin rejse hos det, der dengang hed Klinkby Maskinfabrik, som en ung mand på 22 år. Siden da har han været en uvurderlig del af vores team.

Arne startede sin karriere ved CNC-drejeren, bevægede sig videre til svejseafdelingen, og blev til sidst en fast del af montageafdelingen. Hans viden og erfaring gør ham til vores go-to person, når der opstår arbejdsrelaterede spørgsmål. Ofte hører man kollegaer sige: "Prøv lige at høre Arne".

Arne har arbejdet samme sted i 40 år – en bedrift, der kan føles surrealistisk, men som han også beskriver som meget tilfredsstillende. "Ellers var jeg her jo ikke," deler han med et smil.

Til nye kolleger har Arne et simpelt, men klogt råd: Mød positivt op på arbejde.

Vi er utrolig stolte af at have Arne på vores hold og sætter stor pris på ham som kollega. Tillykke med jubilæet, Arne! 🎉👏

🤝 Meet an Employee: Robert

No company can exist without employees, and we are proud of ours.

Please meet Robert Cwiek.
Robert is 45 years old and from Poland, but now lives in Lemvig. He came to Denmark 10 years ago and has been working with us ever since. He started as a welder and, due to his interest, taught himself to operate the robotic welder. Now, he is the Welding Team Lead. Over the years, his wife, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law have also started working here.

Initially, Robert spoke German with his colleagues, having worked in Austria for 5 years. He quickly attended a language school and now speaks fluent Danish with all his colleagues.

🚵‍♂️ If you drive to and from MacArtney Hydraulics in the morning or afternoon, you will almost always see Robert cycling or running. He is always in a good mood, ready to help, and happy to be here. He says, "I will be here until I retire."

We are also happy to have Robert as part of our team 😊

Who are we?

At MacArtney Hydraulics A/S, we are a diverse group of 51 employees, from the youngest floor sweeper at 15 to our senior worker at 66.

👉 Our production team has five industrial technician apprentices and one technical designer trainee.

👉 We are a mix of six different nationalities: Danish, Romanian, German, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, and Polish. We have cousins, siblings, married couples, and a grandmother and grandchild working side by side.

👉 Our diversity and unity are our strengths. We maintain a good tone and are always ready to help each other. We organise social activities that strengthen our community, and we focus on attracting and training qualified employees to maintain our high standards.

Many employees have been here for many years, and we are actually proud of that 😊.

Welcome to the Nakamura JX-200!

🙌 It felt almost like Christmas last week when we received our new machine, the Nakamura JX-200.

✅ This machine is a modern and advanced machining centre, and our skilled staff is ready to handle it. We are excited to integrate it into our daily operations.

We made a video of its installation, which went smoothly.

Supporting the future of Marine engineering

A huge congratulations to team Desert WAVE 🌵🤖 🌊
(Women in Autonomous Vehicle Engineering) .

🥇 The collegiate robotics team recently competed in and won the 27th International Robosub Competition among 41 other teams from 8 countries.

Dragon and Baby Dragon - the team's robots - work in tandem and are crammed with SubConn connectors.

MacArtney's Beto Campos was more than happy to assist in selecting the correct connectivity solution for the project:

"The robotics program was originally started by Faridodin "Fredi" Lajvardi, a former high school teacher at Carl Hayden High School in Phoenix. Throughout the program and robotics development, the teams have used our SubConn connectors for their AUVs. Sending lots of congratulations from MacArtney to team Desert Wave, and look forward to the next project!"

Today, Fredi is the President / CEO and Director of STEM Initiatives for the Si Se Puede Foundation, where Desert Wave is based. The team is composed of current and recent ASU students.
