Thank you for all the positive feedback on last week's newspaper article about my take on why travelling has never been this important.
If you didn't get the chance to read it, here’s a small capture.

"...Send your young ones out. Pack their backpacks. They need to travel far away, walk on dusty roads, hitchhike, accept invitations to homes, visit countries where they don't speak the language, where they communicate with hands and smiles, taste food from around the world, discuss all topics, and let their thoughts and opinions come to them naturally, where they grow, get inspired, refrain from generalizing, and learn to take a stand for themselves.

Travel far and using all the real-life senses have never been more important. Wars are raging around us, much of which is due to our lack of understanding of each other's cultures and religions. We don't seek dialogue and compromises, the only path to peace. Thank you, 2023.

2023 was the year when travelers became explorers. We have never had this many 80days travelers out discovering this many destinations. Finally, Australia and New Zealand opened for globetrotters, and safari in Africa was back on the bucket list. We have sent clients to all the corners of the world. And thank you for this. When we travel, we discover and explore new cultures, with their diversities, and various religions. Never has it been so important to understand and appreciate our differences.

A short year-end perspective from 80days;

· 80days Boardroom and Passepartout, founded by Anton and I, have had a better beginning than we could ever dream of. Anton has had clients from Mexico, UK, USA, Europe, and the Middle East traveling around the world with our balloon. Hurrah. We are thrilled to see where this will take us. It feels like there are no limits.

· Christoffer won “Most Creative Travel Designer” at the prestigious Serendipians by Traveller Made Award show in March. What an achievement and very much deserved. Christoffer is not merely one of the best Travel Designers in Denmark but is recognized by our colleagues of our industry worldwide.

· 80days was the biggest partner of Four Seasons, Belmond, Aman, Rosewood, and many more, in Denmark and some in Scandinavia. We are extremely proud of this, but most importantly, our 80days travelers will benefit from this with better rates and amenities.

· We have increased our presence and endeavors in local and international networking groups, advisory circles, and this year, I was proud to be invited to speak at Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) International Conference in Marbella.

· For several years now, 80days has sent a “Christmas card” to James and the charity organization Uthando South Africa in Cape Town. Uthando has a special place in my heart and we do this instead of giving Christmas presents to 80days travelers. James is a hero. Tirelessly, he makes a difference for a lot of people in the Townships of South Africa, and we greatly support all their endeavors.

· In 2023, 80days will have contributed more than 5% of our profit to charity organizations. An amount I will do my best to increase yearly. It is the least we can do.

· We have set sail for new projects for 2024. Most will be exclusive for 80days travelers. We have made a deliberate choice not to be a ”members club” we are devoted to making a difference for all our clients.

Thank you to the 80days team. You rock! Thank you to all our 80days travelers, and to all of our ambassadors and business partners, for making our days a little easier, more fun, and less challenging in all the best ways.

HEROES DO EXIST IN REAL LIFE 🦸‍♀️🦸🏽‍♀️♥️ Today we received this little video that put a smile on our faces. 80days believes in giving forward. We helped sponsoring this important project in South Africa managed by Uthanda. This Uthanda investment is in wonderful schools where education is becoming a little better and attainable for even more children. This building is a 6th pre-school or Early Childhood Development Centre (ECD). Ulwazi Educare is built out of tyres, plastic bottles, recycled door and window frames and decompressed film sets. Thank you James and the whole Uthando team. You are all heroes and we will keep supporting you in all your endeavors.
