Tomb of the Scala family sculpted by Ettore Sclavi in 1913. Cimitero monumentale di Staglieno, Genoa.
The Scala tomb, in the frontal gallery at Staglieno Cemetery, was sculpted by Ettore Sclavi in 1913. This is a representation of Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries. The sensual young woman, hair loose in the wind, triumphs over everything as her horse slices through flowers and weeds, symbolically cutting through young and old, good and bad.

“Mother who died in childbirth" by the Spanish sculptor Josep Dalmau (1867-1937). The marble sculpture is located in Montjuïc Cemetery, Barcelona, Spain.
Translation of the epitaph reads:"Here rests M. Isabel de Viala de Zaragoza, who entered the peace of the Lord upon giving birth to her first child on August 1, 1928."Her son lived to be over 90 years old & was buried in the same tomb
