Spotting wildlife while on the Saona Crusoe VIP is one of our favorite parts! This is a female Frigate bird perched on the important breeding ground, the mangroves, the males have a red gular pouch. Fun fact: they have the largest wing area to body weight ratio of any bird in the world! We also often see Hawksbill Sea turtles in the mangroves, pelicans diving into the water to catch their lunch and of course the giant red cushion starfish 🤩 Come check out the wildlife!

This is a baby Hawksbill Sea Turtle at the Saona Sea Turtle Conservation Project in Mano Juan Saona Island, Dominican Republic 🤩 The project has been a great success and in the last few years we have seen a significant increase in the sea turtle population in the area 😍 SeavisTours is proud to be the only sponsor of this project for the last 12 years. Learn all about it when we visit this important conservation effort on our Saona Crusoe VIP excursion. As you canoe down the gorgeous Chavon River valley the mind gets quiet, you notice the wind in the trees towering above you, you see a water bird going about its day, it’s quiet.
