Stroll with us back to the 1500 into the fascinating world of Mrs. Maria de Toledo, the wife of Diego Colón (Christopher Columbus son). Let's walk in the first street of Santo Domingo and the Americas, Calle Las Damas, which is now part of the World Heritage by Unesco. This is where it all started in America!

We will walk the street with a group of Ladies dressed back in time while narrating Mrs. Maria de Toledo's life and point of view, why she came to the New World and what she found. Let's venture inside her first home, The Fortaleza Ozama (Ozama Fortress).

We will also be pointing out other historic sites along the way.

Our journey ends at the Alcázar de Colón, where you will be able to step into her dwelling, a palace of the time and learn to understand her role in an era where woman didn't have political power.

The single biggest celebration of culture in the Dominican Republic takes place during the month of February. Carnival celebrations unite Dominicans from all walks of life and of all ages as everyone takes to the streets as participant or spectator. Parades kick off in the country’s main regions and cities pre-Lent on the first Sunday of February. They continue every Sunday of the month, culminating with Independence Day festivities on February 27.

Let us take you to the First Vineyard in the Caribbean, located in the Bay of Ocoa. You will learn about the wine-growing history of the area dating back to the 1500s when Hernán Cortés had vineyards at the bay. Walk between the vineyards touring the plantations and appreciating how the vines develop. You will also visit the winery and learn about the process of making their wines, concluding with a guided tasting and lunch.
