Panacocha Emerald Forest Lodge

Panacocha Emerald Forest Lodge The Emerald Forest Pañacocha lodge is located on the shore of the Pañayacu River upstream from the The area has recorded more than 500 species of birds.

The Pañacocha reserve sits between the Cuyabeno and Yasuni National Parks, which means we are surrounded by more than 2,000,000 hectares of protected primary forest, especially flooded forest. The surrounding areas are considered amongst the most biologically diverse spots in the world! Our guide and part owner, is the very well known and experienced guide Luis Garcia. Our Lodge:

We believe in in

timacy with the spectacular jungle surrounding the area and prefer to handle small groups. On average our groups are between 6-10 people, even though we have capacity for 24 people in 6 cabins with 2 rooms per cabin. Each cabin has a large deck and private bathroom and shower. Each cabin also has a strong solar powered lantern, so you’ll never be in the dark or have to hear a generator. Different social areas:

• Hammock area to rest and read
• Quiet lounge area where you can have a cold beer or a glass of wine, over the Pañayacu River
• Large lookout platform area, 80 feet above the lodge and at the height of the canopy, great for morning bird watching or to enjoy the sunsets with wine and snacks
• Dining area and kitchen, which serves from local to international cuisine. In this area we have a charging area, so you can keep your cameras and other electronic devices ready to go
• Wading pool to refresh and have a cold beer

Lodge Activities:

Our most popular activities include:
• Day and night hikes through the Primary forest
• Motor or paddle canoes along the river, lakes and flooded forest (day and night)
• Swimming in the river and lakes
• Fishing, especially for Piranhas
• Bird watching (over 500 species, which are not shy!)
• Visit the indigenous community of Pañayacu
• Animals that are commonly seen; 9 species of Monkeys, 2 species of Sloths, 2 species of Otters, 2 species of Caiman, Capibara, River Dolphins, Anacondas/ Boa Constrictors and once in a while great surprises like Jaguars, Ocelots and Tapir.
